@Matthew010 Yeah... but that's not counting the rough import tax xD

At this rate it might be cheaper for me to buy it digitally (and ow, fill my SD Card a lot. Ow).

darkfenrir

Matthew010

@darkfenrir How can you play digitally? Do you buy the figures separately?

Matthew010

darkfenrir

@Matthew010 Ubisoft has said that the game can be fully played digitally since the physical version also unlocks the same equipment in digital, so you never need to have all the plastic toys.

darkfenrir

Matthew010

@darkfenrir Oh that's good. We have so many Disney Infinity, Lego Dimensions and amiibo figures lying around. If I get this, I didn't really want more.

Matthew010

darkfenrir

@Matthew010 yup, I'm glad they are giving choices to us, but I still hope things are unlockable through normal play still no matter how low that hope is

Arwing is at least too cool though

I'm trying to decide if I should spend the extra $200 for all the ships, pilots, and weapons?

I probably will.

Thanks for making my mind up about this game, compulsory 15gb download.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I think I'll buy this once this game is on like, 50% discount or something from Ubisoft next year.

Having a ton of purchases I want to make + still having backlog made that easy choice o+<

@gcunit : My interest in this game went from zero to a hundred upon hearing of Star Fox's inclusion (with accompanying accessories) and then back to zero upon learning of the mandatory download.

Those toys will be as useless as the cartridge when the servers say nighty-night.

Plus, the game is already premium-priced. All they had to do is add another $10 to the price so that the game is at least playable out of the box (or include fewer toys in the Switch Starter Pack).

I am with you the parts will have value as oppose to the digital. And there will be people wanting to collect them and that's me. Spend pre-order or pey more later as I won't need digital to play on another NSW. That's the other reason.

Yeah good luck and the one that is GS only you won't ever find and if you do Scalpers will be selling that one. I doubt they will have enough next year to look for.

I got a list of purchases to make but not going excuse myself for missing the physical toys that won't be found again.

You still seems to living in the cloud....

Based on some cloud facts right?

I got main game discount from BB GCU so if you don't have that then not anyone loss - others will still buy so not loose there either. It's just your loose that I doubt we worry about.

@SwitchForce Considering they seem to say that the toys can be bought digitally, I thought everything will be able to be bought digitally?

If not, then it's a definite no purchase from me because I have no use of toys (doesn't really have place, nor do I want to have too many toys inside my room anyway).

Was planning this for completely digital purchase since I don't have any need for the physical toys.

?

I'm confused by this comment. Firstly, I would assume that the toys would be sort of important to have. Because once the servers say night-night players would be unable to lease items digitally at that point. Secondly, why would you suggest the cartridge would eventually become useless? You do realize that Starlink is an offline single player (or local co-op) game, and not a live service game, right?

@Magician
The cartridge will become useless because it doesn't contain the full game (you need to download an extra 15GB) and when the servers are closed, you won't be able to download that extra data, making the game unplayable and the cartridge totally useless.

Ah, that makes sense. I just had the wrong perspective on the conversation. Still, even though that's an inevitability, it's something that wouldn't happen for at least a decade after Switch console production has ended. But yes...eventually the cartridge would be a brick.

"I played through a small demo of the game, and it felt remarkably like No Man’s Sky, but with a great deal more structure. The amount of space you can explore is notably smaller, but it’s hand-crafted, with actual points of interest. I never came across somewhere that felt empty or uninteresting. As I flew around a colorful alien world, I was free to take on a range of missions; one involved taking down a massive, spider-like alien that ran all over the surface, trying to get away from me. There are things like dynamic weather and events, so you could stumble on a battle between two factions, and have to decide whether to intervene. Or you could spend a few hours cataloging local wildlife."

This game will likely hold itself on its own, regardless of toys and Fox.

HobbitGamer

@lmello I think it will certainly hold its own, as well. I'm happy about that description above, after having gone to every planet in Mass Effect 1 for achievements and completion. Aside from an occasional thresher maw, there were many times I would just fall asleep driving the Mako around lifeless planets. I've been hoping this game will have lots of small content that keeps things 'living' throughout the game.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Unless you sell them later to those looking that is the value of physical items something digital can't do. Those are stuck to your account and no options to sell them.
