Great game, great series. HK-47's dialogue alone is worth the price of admission. Although I suppose this release means the possibility of the remake coming to Switch is highly unlikely. Oh well.
As per usual, I assume Limited Run will negotiate for the right to release this physically.
But with a file size of 15.6GB, LRG will probably ask for $50 for a standard copy alone.

Perhaps. It isn't a big deal to me personally either way, the game is years away.

Having a hard time believing that quoted file size. It's a 2003 game and has a hard drive space requirement on Steam of 5gb. Even with an HD bump, I can't see it tripling the space needed.
Reason I care is because I'm already semi-anticipating an eventual double-pack physical release of KOTOR & KOTOR II. Which would be sweet.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Sometimes for Switch games they leave assets uncompressed, and sometimes use redundancy with the same assets in the file multiple times so it doesn’t have to keep loading a common shared file.
This leads to much larger file sizes, but makes many games possible on Switch. Though I don’t suspect this game necessarily needs such tactics to run. Still, we’ve seen it before with other games.
In any case, this is perfect. Remake is years away, and by the time it drops on PC and eventually gets released on Xbox, Switch 2 will be out and it may get a port at that time. In the meantime, just give us the original in HD. The game is the game, and it’s not that dated like a PSone title is or anything.
I’ll actually play this on Switch. I bought it on my iPad. One of the few games I’ve ever purchased on mobile. But it just wasn’t a good experience as it was designed around the touchscreen so using an m-Fi controller didn’t work out well. Switch is exactly what I wanted.
Fantastic announcement.

I actually feel like the remake won't ever come to switch, given that it's being made mostly for Next Gen consoles in mind. It probably wouldn't run on a switch, and probably would just barely run on the next console Nintendo makes, if it's as powerful as a ps4, or barely as powerful.

The remake nomatter how good it will probably look will likely mess with something that will piss off the purists so switch owners no doubt got the better deal. A true classic never goes out of style.
I'm sure first timers will love the remake though.

Man I was so looking forward to playing Kotor on my switch as it's one of my all time fave games but in the flip side my daughter was born today so my gaming time has just flown out the window 😂
@Jrpglover Congratulations, and you never know. When my son was a baby, he absolutely refused to be put down to sleep. He would wake up as soon as I set him down, so I had no choice but to hold him for hours on end. So I had nothing to do but watch TV or play Wii U (and I imagine that will be a lot easier with the Switch). Good luck.

My son was similar. He wouldn't fall asleep unless I was sitting in his room, usually on his bed, so I spent a lot of nights playing my DS and waiting for him to go to sleep.
Thanks guys appreciate it and the funny thing is when I hold her she wakes up and gets all lively when her mother holds her she falls asleep 🤣
In the end I decided to buy Kotor as I just couldn't resist it and those early hours of being woken up for feed will give me an opportunity to play it I suppose
Waited sooo looong to play it. And now it’s finally on Switch.

@faint I doubt the next console's going to be as powerful as a PS5. If we're lucky, it'll be on par with the base PS4.
But the current Switch is already more powerful than the previous generation (PS3 / X360). So it only makes sense for the next switch to be more powerful than PS4/XBone.
Otherwise that's not enough of a leap to justify a new console generation.
