@VoidofLight ASPYR and Lucasfilm games aren’t known for making hardware pushers anymore. Just because it’s being made for the PS5 doesn’t mean it’s going to be that huge of a leap.
@chipia Actually, Previous gen is Ps4 and Xbox one.
At the time of the Switch release PS3/360 were the previous generation, and Switch was more powerful.
When Switch 2 gets released PS4/Xbone will be the previous generation, so the Switch 2 should be also more powerful than those.
Yes, Switch wasn't much more powerful than WiiU, thats because the portability was the Major Innovation of the Switch, not the graphics. But unless the Switch 2 will be based on some other new feature (which I doubt) Nintendo will have to focus on graphics / performance as the main improvement.
I'm really enjoying this. Unfortunately, SMTV has now taken precedence, so I'll have to come back sometime afterward.

You know those games you played decades ago and thought they were great, and then you play them years later and realize that they're not nearly as good as you remember? Well, that's not Knights of the Old Republic. The game is every bit as engrossing and entertaining as it was when I first played it 20-years ago. Some of the choices and consequences are a bit simplistic compared to Dragon Age: Origins, which I consider to be the pinnacle of BioWare's role playing games (it all went downhill after they sold to EA), but there are still enough meaningful variations in how your character develops and the story plays out that allow you to craft your own unique path through the game.
On a related note, I would love to see a port of Dragon Age: Origins for the Switch.
Hmm why do I get the feeling that not only will KOTOR 2 come at some point, but that also just like the other Star Wars games, we'll eventually get a physical collection of both games in normal quantities in normal retailers for the same price those individual LRG releases went for...?
Then again, KOTOR 1 is nearly 12GB alone, so maybe not.
Despite having owned this game on Steam for years, I've never managed to get off Taris before. In less than a week, I'm making solid progress through Dantooine on Switch. This system really does a lot to boost my motivation to play games!
I'm not really a WRPG fan, but as a Star Wars fan, I've really been enjoying this one. I've unfortunately already spoiled the big twist, but I'm still excited to see how it plays out and just get immersed in a world I've known pretty much my whole life. I'm not really into the combat admittedly, but this is maybe the one game where I'm just enjoying following the story and taking part in it despite not being super into the gameplay.
@Reprise An LRG representative in a collecting Discord server I'm in said that KOTOR is an LRG-exclusive since a lot of people were wondering about this. It could change down the road of course, but I wouldn't expect a retail release any time soon, especially since KOTOR1+2 would probably be too big for a budget dual-pack release.
"Little by little. Each day as it comes. That's how we should live."
@Slowdive A THQ retail release would likely be at least a year out from now since it's been confirmed LRG has exclusive rights to KOTOR in North America at least. Maybe it'll get one in Europe, but I'd imagine LRG would want to secure exclusivity to this for at least a year.
If anything, I'd guess KOTOR 2 will come next personally. Seems like the most logical game to port after KOTOR1, especially since Aspyr will probably want to drum up more hype for the remake. I'd probably pick up a Shadows of the Empire remaster to give it a shot, though I've heard the quality drops off pretty hard after the first mission.

@Slowdive I downloaded it before LRG announced its physical release, though I'm planning to just grab it through LRG as opposed to holding off for a potential retail release. I know odds are it'll happen eventually, but given that the price would probably be about the same either way, I'd rather not take the risk in case THQ decides to not put out a retail release for whatever reason. Waiting's a perfectly valid decision too, of course!
From what I've heard, Aspyr's mobile port of KOTOR2 included the cut content mod, so my hope is they add that to the inevitable Switch port as well. I've heard it really changes the game for the better. As for Shadows, it definitely looks pretty ambitious from what I've seen. I want to try it at least for that opening Hoth mission, though I'm kind of prepared for the rest of it to be uneven. I'm really enjoying the older Star Wars ports and I hope they keep coming, preferably with the original Battlefront games coming in the near future!

Oh really? Wow, nice! I really hope we get a Switch port with the same cut content included then.
KOTOR 1 is one of my favourite games of all time. I remember buying it the week it came out for XBOX and being obsessed with it until I completed it... and then I restarted it and completed it all over again going down a different path. Surprisingly though I never got around to playing KOTOR 2 and really want to some time. I even picked it up on Steam about 5 or 6 years back, but I just never got to it. A Switch port would be a perfect excuse.
As for Shadows of the Empires. I bought it back in the day and it wasn't great. In fact, I still own it and my N64 (I'm a retro gamer and still play a lot of my old consoles and games) and it really hasn't aged well in my opinion. The first mission was impressive at the time, but that's about it. It was never that great of a game.
What we need is a Rogue Squadron and Rogue Leader remaster

I never did play KOTOR2 because of the issues surrounding its release (obviously cut content; significant bugs), so I would certainly be interested in a complete and bug free version being released for the Switch.
I gotta grab the Ultimate collector edition for this.
It's expensive as heck, but this is one to be treasured.
Hopefully KOTOR 2 releases on Switch next.

@Mountain_Man The cut content mod is also available on PC if you'd like to play it that way, though you'd have to add it yourself since it's not included with the game itself on Steam as far as I know. I do hope it's included whenever the game comes to Switch though, it's easily my preferred system for most types of games.

Have really been enjoying this game again, but it's interesting how much smaller it seems today than when it was first released. When I played it for the first time 20-years ago, it seemed so vast and epic, but looking at it today, each location you visit has one longish primary quest, and two or three sub-quests that you will most likely complete simply through the course of pursuing the primary quest. I actually appreciate how focused the game is (too many RPGs seem to focus on quantity over quality), but it's strange to me that I remember it meandering much more than it really does.
So I've finally watched the original trilogy because I say this on Limited Run Games website and wanted to have vague knowledge of the series before playing it.
The original trilogy is very good.
Ah, you skipped the first three episodes? Too bad, but, yes, even with only half of the saga under your belt, you should still have enough familiarity with the Star Wars universe to appreciate Knights of the Old Republic, although I think some of it may be lost on you (in particular the struggle between the Jedi and the Sith which is a significant plot arc in Episodes 1, 2, and 3 but is barely even hinted at in 4, 5, and 6; the first three episodes also show the Jedi organization prior to its downfall, so more like they appear in KOTOR than they do in the second half of the film series).
@Mountain_Man Weren't the prequels made AFTER episodes IV, V and VI?
I'll probably watch Revenge of the Sith but I don't think I'll bother with episodes I or II.
The production order was backwards, where Episodes 4-6 were made before Episodes 1-3, but as far as the narrative is concerned, it tells a complete story about the fall and rise of Anakin Skywalker when watched in episodic order, which is how I prefer to watch the movies.
@Mountain_Man I feel like watching in episodic order kind of spoils the big reveal in Empire though. I've seen a theory that the best order to watch is to start with EP4 & EP5, then go back and watch the prequels as a flashback of sorts, then watch the rest from EP6 onwards in order.

There are two theories:
If you watch in episode order then it ruins the "Vader is Luke's father" twist. Alternatively, if you watch the second half first then it ruins the "Anakin turns to the dark side" twist. When my kids watched Star Wars for the first time, we watched it in narrative order, and they were so shocked when the hero of the story turned into the villain, and then cheered in the end when he redeemed himself (Return of the Jedi is a much better film when you know Anakin's backstory), so I consider that the proper order to watch the films.
