So it seems we'll get to check out 4 of the 5 new stages, the pairings are as follows:
1. Scorch Gorge + Museum d'Alfonsino
2. Mincemeat Metalworks + Mahi-Mahi Resort
3. Eetail Alley + Undetow Spillway
I just got into my first ever 10x Battle in 3......and proceeded to have the entire other team disconnect when they were losing. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Argh, I'm on holidays so right now is the only chance I will get to play today but I've had nothing but disconnections so far. My internet seems fine so I'm not sure if there's too many other people with wonky internet causing the issue or not?
After a rocky start I've managed to get 3 games in but now I'm off to drink and be merry for the rest of the day now so I will miss the tri-battle thingy later annoyingly which is what I really wanted to play and I kept getting the same stage which is a shame.
Some of my general thoughts. Choosing where to spawn isn't as revolutionary as I thought it could be as if you could choose to go deeper into the stage that would have been a real game changer, the Ghost In The Shell-ish mechas are really cool and the bow & arrow weapon I really wanted to like however I'm just a but rubbish with it.
I'm still looking forward to getting 3 but this hasn't blown me away.
The Splatfest so far has gotten me a lot more excited for Splatoon 3, the small improvements like the way the lobby now works together go a long way to making the experience a lot better.
While I definitely think MK8 Deluxe was the right approach instead of a MK9 (turn MK8 Deluxe into MK Ultimate and then MK9 can be something massively different), I'm starting to lean towards Splatoon 3 having been the better option than just adding the content to Splatoon 2.
I got a couple of games in before a disconnection error early in my third match. Will try for a bit more but if it keeps happening I'll just try again tomorrow in the AU Splatfest and hope that things are running smoother then.
I managed to get past those first connection issues thankfully (though they do still crop up from time to time, grumble grumble). I've even gotten 5 10x matches overall, and won 2 of them at that! I'm currently Ruler Rank as of now but I think I'm going to take a break until the next map rotation, I've played it non-stop for the past 4 hours more or less 😅

Just the one time for be so far. Can sometimes take me a while to get into a game but once I'm in I've mostly been fine. Not playing from Europe (Australia here) but most of the other players have been Japanese as usual anyway.
@Fizza
What NAT type do you have? I couldn't manage to play a single game the past 2 hours. I keep disconnecting and timed bans for it.
I have no problem with any other online game. Tried it. Had enough time testing thanks to the bans..
Edit: Never mind. I reseted everything possible, and now it's a flawless connection. Weird. 😅
@Budda I wouldn't know anything about NAT myself (I couldn't understand it if I tried) but even if I did, I think I've just been hit with the same time-out as you for, apparently, disconnecting WHEN THE MATCH WAS OVER 😡

@TheEnglishOtter@BenAV@WoomyNNYes The disconnect is just as frequent as they are in Splatoon 2, it entirely depends on the connection of the players. If the host doesn't have a stable connection, the entire match gets disconnected. If you are not the host, you'll just get booted out of the game.
Keep in mind that Nintendo only used servers for matchmaking, NOT the actual online play. So there won't be any change after this demo. The online play itself is P2P, and doesn't run on a server.
