@CaleBoi25 If you have more splatoon friends than friend lockers on the friend-locker-wall, I could be bumped out. Other possible factors, I've only been playing Salmon Run, or I haven't played much in the past week.
The Big Run reward bugs are (SUPPOSEDLY) finally getting fixed with the next update, coming out tomorrow morning!
Been waiting for this to get patched before hopping back on Splatoon again (didn't really bother me too much as I was able to play through the Pokemon DLC in peace as a result XD) but now that it's finally been fixed (again, SUPPOSEDLY), I definitely want to try and play catch up with Chill 2023's content (still haven't played on Bluefin yet if you can believe it).
EDIT - IMPORTANT ADDENDUM: Splattercolour Screen's visual effect has also been toned down in some way according to the patch notes. We don't know the full extent yet but this could be massive for those who were severely affected by it at the start of the season!
@CaleBoi25 Well, fixed is the wrong word because it was never broken. It worked precisely as they designed it to.
From a balancing perspective in Splatoon it's a hard question to answer. Disorientating mechanics are nothing new in online shooters. Like flash and stun grenades in CoD or CS for excample. And from what I heard, the try hards in this game hate it as well. Though they never changed it because the community cried about it.
Though Splatoon has a different audience, where disabilities are much more common I asume. It's good they try to help people and make it a little more fair. On the other hand it's a little frustrating.
I was right, it got announced today! Can’t wait! I’m going with Family on this one. I enjoy seeing friends but Fam is gonna trump on this one, and I personally don’t like being alone. (Fam v Friend rematch lol)

Well it's a world wide Splatfest. I can imagine that the votes in Japan are lower for family. Because the whole "holidays" aspect is mostly a western thing. They celebrate it just mostly for fun. Friend and Solo will probably dominate there.
Plus some people just vote for white because it's a "funny" ink colour.
I will say… it seems odd that Big Man chose “solo” given his personality. I get that he is an introvert but I would have assumed

Big Man showed that he wants to do Solo with his collab with the Squid Sisters. It's his dream.
I think the choices may be to balance out the teams more. Shiver has a large enough fanbase who only vote for Shiver whatever the theme, Frye has the most popular choice of the 3 (Family was largely more popular than Friends in Splatoon 2 FrostyFest) and Big Man has the ink colour. After all, the most fun Splatfests are the ones where all 3 teams have around a third of the vote.
