@CaleBoi25 I've been playing since the start, but skipped 2. I was addicted to the first one, but my life became busier and my interest in splatoon slowly faded away. When 3 was announced I couldn't resist preordering it, and now I'm addicted again.
@mr_somewhere All the sorella kits are usable. Tenta sorella's the strongest, Sorella brella's good and Sunder's fine. If you want to learn brella, pick one of them.
Hey, I’ve heard recently that the Splattercolor Screen is giving many players issues. Is anyone here affected by it? Personally, I find it very difficult to see anything the entire duration of the effect, but I heard some are actually in pain because of it. How about you guys?
@Croctopus It would follow the same release pattern as before. A batch of amiibo around launch followed by the music artist being amiibo and then where applicable an expansion related batch of amiibo (Splatoon 1 didn't get an expansion so there were only 2 waves of amiibo).
So do you guys think we're getting anymore King Salmonids? Only Horrorboros was added during the entire first year and Nintendo said they will support the game for 2 years IIRC. So I kind of fear Joe may be the last one. I hope I am wrong, but that's my gut feeling right now. I suspect we're getting a new stage next season and then probably a returning one(lost outpost most likely) the season after that. If we're lucky the final season will have one last King Salmonid, but that's me being optimistic.

So far it all seems annecdotal, to me. I can see how the topic has viral quality.
I will agree, the splattercolor screen effect does a good job of being disorienting, taking away color, and the change sound to white noise. I haven't had any interest in trying the weapon, I've only seen gameplay clips on youtube.
Now I don't think they will add side order stuff into salmon run, so hear me out its like this its going to have rng element to game so thats means the higher the ability is the harder the enemy is. You see salmon rotates with weapons and its going to be hard each rank you are in for example lets say you are a in the the first pay check rank you are in, thats mean you are in the easiest match, then if you are more higher you are more likely to have harder wave
@vio Speaking as a SR enjoyer I imagine we'll be getting one more, just by virtue of the fact that 4 is a nice rounded number and there only being three would bother me to no end. I really hope we see Ark Polaris return too, although I suppose it would need some major changes to work in this game.
@vio I think they'll extend support beyond 2 years. Given the nature of wave 1, I think a reward for clearing Side Order will be having Off the Hook perform in Inkopolis Square during Splatfests. So it would be really odd for that to only be a thing for like 2 Splatfests which is what would potentially be the case if Splatoon 3 support stays at 2 years (final season being Sizzle Season 2024). Also there's the big question of how to keep Splatoon alive during the Switch 2 era.
@Grumblevolcano@mr_somewhere@vio 3 King Salmonids would fit a certain prevalent theme in this game though... And PLEASE 3 YEARS OF UDATES! That would fit aforementioned theming...!
@mr_somewhere Splatoon is very centered around the number 3, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. 3 idols, tri-color, tri-zooka, tri-strike, triple splashdown, tri-stringers, c-side, agent 3, 333x battles, bear #03, max hazard level in salmon run is 333%, you have 3:33 to beat the the final boss, etc. Sadly, it'd fit to have 3 king salmonids.
@_Lime YES. LET ME PLAY SQUID BEATS AT THE JUKEBOX.
@WoomyNNYes It'd be cool to be able to play S1 single player with S3 mechanics. As long as they change the bosses (at least make them harder) I think it could be interesting.
I've been playing my copy of splatoon 2 that arrived recently (in english this time) and I LOVE bubble blower (except for the bomb combo). I don't know how fun it'd actually be, but I think it'd be cool for the new splattercolor screen to act like a bubble. Make it have a ton of hp, and make the other team do 1.5x damage or something. The closer it is to bursting, the more "see through" it is and the slower it moves. Also make it paint better. And have a long obvious animation before it bursts. You could maybe throw bombs over it because it's not that tall. As long as I'm not missing anything game breaking, I think it'd be super diverse and have a ton of use cases. Distraction, paint, offense, slowing pushes, stalling, etc. I think it'd be fun.
