@BenAV Thanks. Ohh, Card Shark, that's the kung fu stance looking one. Oof. The card game is so strangely stressful & uninteresting for me, I don't think I could play it to level 30 for the Card Shark emote. That's not a put down of the card game. This is more about me, and how I'm wired.

Played Salmon Run again today. Last time I was in serious trouble when the game decided to match me with people who were way better than me and the matches were too hard. This time I won all 6 games I played. I wish the map rotation didn't happen just as I got full Salmometer as I was really happy with the team I had. We wiped out in the extra wave with the new team I got.

Also played two sets of Tower Control. First set was 5/6 wins, 4/5 were knockouts and the fifth one was 2 away from a knockout. I got a rank up and decided to do another set. Lost 3/4 and was kicked out. I'm currently A+. I used to be S+0-4 in all ranked modes in Splatoon 2. It's weird that I haven't seen Splat Zones much. I think I've played ~5 matches in total. It's just never in rotation when I decide to play.

I’ve been having some better luck with the Grizzco matchmaking over the past couple of days now. I’m crossing my fingers that maybe it’s starting to finally even out players!

Anyone else seem to be struggling to shoot ink and swim with current weapons of Salmon Run? With Tenta Brella and Bamboozler weapons, I've shot then tried to swim, and it's not inking at my feet, so frequently, I can't shoot & swim to escape. They work fine in the training room, but I have struggled during gameplay. That Tenta Brella also swims slow AF. I couldn't swim fast enough to get away from a scrappers. Or maybe all of this is bad luck, and I was tired, and playing sloppy, but I thought something seemed off.

@WoomyNNYes With slower weapons like the Tenta Brella I'd say that positioning becomes really important as you really want to try to avoid getting too swarmed if you can. I don't find the Tenta Brella too bad though I don't think... Give me that over a Splatling or something.

Bamboozler is a little awkward but I think it is capable of manuvering around as long as you can keep your cool and remember to charge it. Its turf coverage without charging it up though is horrible so if you try to just spam the shoot button in a panic then you probably won't get far.

If you were playing tired then that probably did have an impact as well. I generally still go okay when getting tired but I do get a bit sloppier and start to struggle to get out of the really tight spots that I might be able to deal with when I'm feeling sharp.

Boo! No Halloween splatfest!

I think Nintendo just wanted to give Bayonetta 3 space like how MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 2 didn't release until after Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came out. Tricolor Turf War, Big Run and Tableturf Battle are the 3 big brand new additions to the Splatoon franchise with Splatoon 3 so Big Run would make a big splash whenever it debuted which could've taken attention away from Bayonetta 3.

Meanwhile there's a 2 month gap between Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Fire Emblem Engage where there's currently not much going on in terms of precise release dates so Big Run's debut may be more fitting there in terms of keeping up excitement about Switch (trio of big Splatoon 3 content, MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 3, Switch Sports Golf).

I'd also guess that Tricolor Turf War will be more common in the Pokemon Splatfest than the desert island Splatfest.

Hello can someone please help me with something that’s gone wrong with my game. I was playing the single player and then quit to go back to Splatsville. The stages had just rotated so the game needed to reload. But it couldn’t reload and got stuck on a black screen and I got an error message ( code 2154-8007 if that helps). I closed the game and reopened it but it couldn’t get past the initial purple and yellow ink loading screen and after about 2 minutes it threw up the same error message. The error told me to update my system but it is completely up to date. I looked up a solution online and found something about putting the switch into airplane mode, loading the game and then turning airplane mode off. It kind of worked, because my game could get past the first loading screen and into the game, but then absolutely refused to connect to the internet. Airplane mode was definitely off I checked. I tried turning my console off and on again and it now can’t get past the initial loading screen again. Playing on OLED model if that helps. Please help!

@harrygamerstar Since the most recent Splatoon 3 update in the last week or so, I've noticed Splatoon 3 occasionally getting stuck on the black load screen, and I have to shut down the game & restart it. Perhaps that black screen freeze messed up a save point, and corrupted the game? That's just a guess. Outside of what you've already done, I can only think of two things. You can hit the (+) button on the game's tile, and try downloading your save data from the cloud. If that doesn't solve it, you can try deleting the game & redownloading it, in a effort to undo whatever's corrupted the game.

If neither of those things solve it, I think you'll have to contact Nintendo.

NLife's resident Splatoon fanatic here dropping some news tidbits from over the past day or two for those who missed it (I have a bad habit of getting chokeholded by game series' it seems):

Firstly, Salmon Run rewards have shifted to the Brain Strainer! It's either a Ghostbusters or Back to the Future reference (and when the other two have been plainly BttF, I'm inclined to believe it's the latter).

It certainly looks goofy as hell but certainly something I could've seen them doing for a mode like Salmon Run (especially if you've played the Story Mode if you catch my drift....).

Secondly, the data for the upcoming Pokemon Splatfest has officially been uploaded to the servers. Why is this important? BECAUSE OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR CONCH SHELLS WILL BE RETURNING FOR THE PREVIEW FROM THE 4TH-11TH.

Expected? Probably. Amazing? HELL YES.

And lastly, the amiibo gear has been datamined for both their name and abilities so, if you want to remain blind before the 11th, don't click on the next two spoiler tags:

I'm just waiting for the new Splatoon 3 amiibo hit ebay/etsy in nfc card form (decent looking cards). I see some user in my region has them in coin form already. **If nintendo offered the dlc digitally, I wouldn't have to do this.

@Fizza What do conch shells do exactly? I've seen the name tossed around a lot around Splatfest time.

@chapu2006 Free usage of the gacha machine (I forgot the name of it) in the lobby.

@chapu2006 One conch shell can buy your one shellout machine capsule. That's their only use. There's no need to save them up. If you don't spend them by the end of spaltfest, you lose them. So, use them up when you get them.

I think conch shells start getting rewarded to you for the week leading up to Splatfest (or maybe you can start earning them after you pick your Splatfest team). I got 10-15 conch shells last spaltfest, possibly even 20. So, that's a bunch free capsules from the shellout machine. I got a couple cool banners out of it.

@novasoup November 4th - 11th is where you can pick your team early and start earning Conch Shells, then November 11th - 13th is the Splatfest itself.
