Topic: Splatoon 3

@Fizza thanks. I’m excited to be able to grind out the gacha machine again!

Just reached Catalog level 80. I'm really hoping I can grind out the next 20 levels before the new catalog in December. So far, Series battles have easily been the best way to level both it and my player level up quickly, so I think I'm just gonna do a lot of those.

@StarPoint You could even win just one battle in any mode each day and get over 20 catalog levels by the end of the month comfortably as that daily win bonus is close to a free level on its own.

@BenAV That's true, I have been utilizing those daily wins a lot. I'm not always able to play every single day, though, so it's not as much of a reliable system for me.

@StarPoint That's fair. I finished the catalog long ago (I think I've finished like four now) so I don't need to worry about it but I usually end up getting a lot of daily bonuses just from Salmon Run, as I always jump on for a bit each rotation.

Wow. The connection today is superb! Especially Salmon Run. I pick up Gold Eggs almost like it's offline play. With out a noticeably lag, I'm able to collect more Eggs the last few seconds.

@Budda I've noticed that the connection lately has been a little inconsistent for me, especially in Salmon Run. Sometimes, picking up eggs is instant, and as you said, leads to me being able to put more in. But other times, I still get that half-second delay from before. I haven't been able to play yet today, though, so maybe things are starting to smooth out a bit.

i want to know- what team is everybody picking for the splatfest and why? im choosing water because i like the pokemon designs and their variety (plus im a big fan of marine life in general)

@novasoup I don't play Pokemon nor do I care for any specific type, so I'm just gonna side with Big Man. I believe he'll be the Water type side.

It rarely lags this much for me. And if it does most of the time one person leaves the group and it is much better. It really depends what connection other player have. It can depend on just a single player.
Generally I collect eggs pretty fast. Even faster since the big mid season patch. But today it was noticeably faster than usual.

@novasoup I'll have to talk it over with my friends before deciding to make sure we pick the same team but they'll be picking between Grass and Fire as I've never been big on the Water starters.

Not even in Splatoon 3 can you escape holiday stuff starting as soon as Halloween ends. I figured I'd go back to Splatoon 3 after having played a lot of Bayonetta 3 and was greeted by a load of Mariah Carey and general holiday season related posts.

@Kairu When you boot up Splatoon 3 the first time, you will get a prompt asking if you want to import save data from Splatoon 2, say Yes. It gives you several golden tickets that let you unlock a few weapons early, instead of having to grind up to level 30 to unlock all weapons. You will only get that one chance to say yes or no for importing Splatoon 2 save data.

I noticed something which may explain the whole harder Salmon Run situation. I promoted from Overachiever to Profreshional Part-Timer in a match but was able to continue playing with the group I was with at the time. This wasn't the case in Splatoon 2 which suggests this time Salmon Run difficulty each time is calculated as the average of the 4 players' ranks.

@Grumblevolcano I've had the same feeling recently regarding Salmon Run matching. I've been in pro 2 - pro 3.

I noticed it the other way around. The difficulty was noticably lower than it should be.
I also heard that Salmonids are generally moving and hitting faster than in Splat2. Which would explain why Glowfly Waves are a lot harter in this game.
What I don't understand is, why people struggle so much with normal low tide waves. Since you can throw eggs this time around this should be easier. But the opposite happens here for some reason. If there is fog they suddenly know how to collect eggs. lol

@Budda It's balanced out by the quotas being higher in Splatoon 3.

But not by a large margin. I think at 0-100VP compared to 400-500 in Splat2, the difference is around 6-7 eggs.
With the throwing mechanic you can collect eggs at least twice as fast. Doesn't make huge difference that way.

During Cohozuna, use the golden eggs to one-shot boss salmonids to get more golden eggs faster, to fire at Cohozuna, and kill Cohozuna before time runs out. Who here has already been doing this? Sometimes, I've been amazed at how quickly teammates are slaying boss salmonids during Cohozuna, and maybe this explains it.
