@Fizza I've only played a few Anarchy games since the patch and it was raining here which makes my Internet go even more jank than usual so it was mostly just lag and communication errors.

@StarPoint
Hah! I was about to moan about incompetent Salmon Run team mates here a few days ago. But didn't in the end.
I can't remember Splatoon 2 Salmon Run being like this as well. I think they have to implement the checkpoints again, like in 2. That way it should sort the less experienced players from the casual players. If every player starts with 40 points again on a new shift you can't prevent being matched with bad players. With checkpoints the bad players stay together and don't pull better players down. Or they don't get carried up to higher ranks and there starts the problem.
If I win it's pretty close and I collected 50% of gold eggs. And it's not like I don't splat bosses and salmons. I got the same amount of regular orange eggs as my team. It can't be that hard to collect gold eggs....

@Budda Instead of having Profreshional 0/100/200/300/400 we now have it broken up into Profreshional Part-Timer, +1, +2, +3 and then Eggsecutive VP so I don't think it's all that different. Eggsecutive VP is basically just the equivalent to Splatoon 2's Profreshional 400.

I think Salmon Run is just a bit harder now than it was in Splatoon 2. I used to play a lot of Salmon Run in Splatoon 2 with a friend who wasn't that great at the mode but I could usually carry him a bit if I needed to so it wasn't so bad. In Splatoon 3 at Eggsecutive VP though it got really rough when we tried to play together. Really need everyone to pull their own weight now.

I checked the app to see the hazard levels. You're right. But they should add some anyway. Just to make the 999 badge reachable without playing Salmon Run like the whole day to reach it. The new maps are a lot easier to manage compared to Splatoon 2 maps though. The returning one is noticeably harder.
Speaking of which. I hope Lost Outpost returns. It was my favourite map. And Ark Polaris should stay in the poison carbinet forever! (Though with the new throwing mechanic would make it much more manageable)

@StarPoint yeah i've been having the same problems, i'm stuck on profreshional +1 and barely, if ever, making it to wave 3 is definitely not helping. although i will argue that some of that difficulty admittedly comes from the gamemode itself, especially if i keep getting flyfish on STUPID HIGH TIDE SPAWNING GROUNDS WHERE THEY KEEP SPAWNING OVER THE GRATES (nah but really it's my least favorite map right now lol)
@Budda aww ark polaris was one of my faves, mainly cuz grind rails helped a lot

@BenAV Wow, I've never realized how close I was to VP. Salmon run is just the mode I try to play every rotation to get the capsules, I might start being a little picky now that I know I've been so close. I've been up and down from +1 to +3 constantly.

How's the patch going for you guys? My NSO subscription ran out the day this came out so I unfortunately won't be able to tinker with it for a bit (definitely plan on being back soon though) but I'm still curious as to whether the changes feel substantial enough (particularly on the weapons and those damn Flyfish).

I played, maybe, 6-10 matches after the patch. They seem to have addressed laggy, delayed splats. I never saw any terribly delayed spalts Iike I had been seeing before the patch. I don't think it's as tight as Spaltoon 2, but its close to how it should be.

I didnt' play a ton, but it seems better.

Catalog level 98. I got that dab emote.

I think that Stuntin' emote is maybe the dumbest.(just my opinion) The first two poses it does are corny & cheesey. Oof.🤣

@novasoup @BenAV does battle-xp-boosting food also boost catalog xp? I thought it didn't, but recently I was using battle xp up, and started wondering. Maybe my winning streak is what made my catalog level up faster.

@WoomyNNYes I've been pretty much exclusively using money tickets since launch at I usually get them about as fast as I spend them so my XP tickets are just piling up. I'm on like my 4th or 5th catalog now without using XP tickets, not really keeping track because you don't get anything interesting after the first one anyway.

@WoomyNNYes It doesn't, same result whether you use the drink or not. In general, winning your first match of the day gives you a big catalog XP boost and winning gives more catalog XP than losing.

Played 7 rounds of Salmon Run and lost all but one. I was wondering why the game was matching me with people who had way more experience than I do. Or at least, that's what I think happened, since the stages were swarming with bosses even though this is my 3rd session of Salmon Run since the game came out. I usually play ranked.

At first it felt like I was the one slowing my team down, dying in the first wave because we had couple of high tides at start in a map I'd never played before. There were also events I hadn't seen before. That was rough. After the first few matches, I got used to the chaos and died just once or twice in each match and I was consistently one of the better player in our team but that didn't help. It seemed like I wasn't the only one who was in a match way beyond their skill level.

I had to come here to see if anyone else has had this problem lately and judging by the last page, I'm not alone. Though people here seem to be the good ones who are matched with the likes of me. Sorry. I searched for a new team multiple times in hopes of finding easier matches but with no luck. The difficulty didn't seem to go any lower even once I dropped back to Overachiever which wasn't this hard last time I played. I lost more games in this session than I had lost in total before I started.

In other news, I won 5/6 Tower Control games and got bunch of points. Tower Control has always been the mode I've been best at. I was playing Ranged Blaster which I hadn't used in 3 yet. I liked it. I might use it more in the future. I don't have much experience with blasters. I played Luna Blaster a bit in 2 but that's about it.

StarPoint

@Late Yeah, unfortunately, Salmon run's matchmaking is just unbalanced. It needs more time to smooth things out, and I think future updates could also help. But I think it'll be pretty balanced in a month's time.

Salmon Run tip dump:

The Cohozuna meter fills up faster if you play with the same team multiple times.
Exploshers can kill Flyfish.
The impact of a Slammin Lid on the ground is able to kill Steelheads (and presumably other bosses: the former is the only type I've seen).

Hope you're having a good day.

I cannot believe I'm saying this but.....I'm trying to make Splatoon OC's. What have I become?
Untitled
It's mad: before 3's release, I basically stuck with my player character from single-player and that was that. Now that 3's come out though? I'm making up backstories, trying to tweak designs as much as possible, all that good stuff. And you know what the worst thing is? I'm getting attached to them.

Here's a rough idea of what I'm trying to make them look like (based off of a site called neka.cc):

I won't give much away for now on what I'm planning their stories to be but here's a clue: I really liked Generator Rex growing up.

(oh and don't take the doom and gloom stuff I say in this seriously: I'm really enjoying coming up with ideas for these two gremlins!)

@Fizza Bro, enjoy, oc are just fun in general. And man do I feel you on those character tweaks, didn’t do it much in 2, but oh boy I just keep going back and fourth lol. Oh and btw, generator Rex was the bomb! Let me try,

Man, this just makes me wish splatoon had more options, because man, I have been wanting to make a character like her for a hot sec.

What am I gonna name her tho….how about, something really simple, drowsy fits, yeah! Or I could just Call her my username Lmao.

@chapu2006 Yeah, Slammin Lid can take out whatever other boss strays next to it (I think?), except Cohozuna. Although, I don't think I've ever seen a Stinger get close enough to a Slammin' Lid to take advantage of it. Pretty sure I saw a Slammin Lid take out a Flyfish in the past few days. It may have been the first time I'd seen it done. I definitely hit the Booyah!! Dpad button.

Regarding Cohozuna and the Slammin Lid, it doesn't appear Slammin Lid can do enough damage to be really notable. I mean, if you see a Slammin Lid next to a Cohozuna, go ahead and hit it, if it helps you save ink, but it doesn't seem to do anything significant.

Making that oc just now, just made me realize, I love that hair style! I just didn’t use it because I felt like it’s overused lol, but why should I care!
