@shani Mostly because pulling it off generally requires your teammates to pull moves that you would normally condemn them for doing. Mainly charging headlong into combat and hoping they survive long enough to go and start the jump.
Continuing my long-running serialisation, 'How Not to Play Splatoon', I would like to submit the following.
Do do play Splatoon:
Hangry (sorry to use that word but it's accurate)
Excessively tired
In desperate need of a pee
And definitely not any combination of the above.
The later two were pretty obvious, and I've been pretty sensible about them really. But the debilitating influence of an empty stomach only really hit me today.
Eat a healthy and balanced diet, squiddos. With plenty of kelp!
Yesterday I made my way into S +1 in Tower Control, only to lose 7/8 matches and go back to S+ 0 .
But today went really well, got up to S+1 and to the okay line in Tower Control, made S+0 in Rainmaker, and A+ in Splat Zones! A really good day for me!
So, according to the chart, a light weapon using Ninja Squid needs 4 mains of Swim Speed Up to break even from the debuff, while a medium weapon needs 3 mains, and a heavy weapon needs 2.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
@JaxonH Wow, had no idea the speed debuff was this severe. Might re-think my gear (or at least built a clothing alternative) but then again, I'm so used to it by now that I felt like a torpedo putting on my Swim Speed Up Moto Boots.
On that account, how useful do you guys think Thermal Ink is?
Making Octolings playable would likely require some major story developments, which isn't easy to pull off in a multiplayer-centric game. How would a single-player campaign work with playable Octolings, for example?
Never understood why everyone and their aunts want to play as Octolings. Now, it might be because I am nearing the completion of Hero Mode and therefore have most recently experienced Octolings as pesky and annoying little beasts, that while easy to take down, are around every corner in a what feels like endless amount (though I believe to remember from my time first playing the levels and collecting the Scrolls and Sardinium that they, in fact, stop coming eventually), so I simply don't see their appeal over the fresh-looking Inklings. That's not to say, I'd be mad if it happened or that I wouldn't be happy for those clamoring for their inclusion for years, you just won't see me transforming my fresh and cute Montillo into an Octoling for any extended amount of time.

@meleebrawler My guess is it would be explained in a Direct with a trailer as well as some added dialog between Marina and Pearl. Story mode I'm not sure... maybe some dialog changes or (sigh) not allowing you to play as an octoling in the main story until you beat some kind of DLC story on octoling treason.
@Dev The main issue with making a new story campaign is being careful it does not interfere with the multiplayer. Wouldn't want matchmaking with Octoling-using players to be restricted just for the sake of avoiding plot holes now, would we?
That said, they could easily do both of the things you suggested. Have Off the Hook explain the reasons for Octolings joining the fray, while the Octo campaign deals solely with off-screen ramifications. Maybe as a harder sequel involving Callie?
@Mygirlsdaddy66 Probably not, if we're honest. Offline multiplayer requires each player to have their own Switch, and you'd want at least four players, eight to really get the most out of it. Plus I've heard the local wireless comminication is not very reliable. There is a single player campaign, but since it isn't the focus of the game, it's kinda short and simple.
@Mygirlsdaddy66 Nope, not worth it at all. The single-player is great, but incomplete and not at all a stand-alone experience. It will only leave you wanting to play the multiplayer, which is only online or with a ridiculous amount of Switch friends like @Zyrac said.
With the Hero Mode 100% complete, I now decided to scan in the Marie and Callie Amiibo. Marie worked fine but it just won't recognize Callie. And that happens both in-game and in the home menu of the Switch. Every other Amiibo is recognized immediately. It just won't recognize Callie and I'm pretty bummed out I won't be able to finish my gear collection. Has anyone heard of this or knows what to do?
Edit: My 3DS recognizes Callie! So why won't my beloved Switch do that?
Edit 2: Okay, now my Switch reads it as well! No idea why or how scanning and registering it to my 3DS account fixed it but it did.
