Just started Violet during lunch break from work. The game looks fun and it's definitely a step in the right direction! That said, it'll take some time getting used to how bad it looks (worse than Sw/Sh, a little worse than Arceus) and to its performance that was below 30fps even inside Mom's house...
Hopefully, GameFreak will patch it in the coming months to at least stabilize performance.
I'll hopefully be getting my copy tomorrow if all goes well, we've been stretched a bit thin recently with stuff like college, work, etc. going on so I wasn't able to grab it today. Have shockingly only seen a single spoiler so far being a potential new flamingo mon but I've managed to evade almost every livestream possible so far which is....surprising to say the least. Hopefully I can keep it up until tomorrow (or whenever I can get the game)? Who knows.

Before I permanently step out of this thread until I play one of the games in about a year or so:
From what I've seen of the exclusives, I'm definitely team Scarlet now. Sorry, but I like Tyranitar and Hydreigon too much.
Appearance wise in terms of the starters and their evolutuons, I'm still sticking with Sprigatito. Fuecoco is a close second though! Quaxly...Still no. Always no. HECK. NO.
With the sheer amount of new Pokemon, it's going to take forever to update my internal memory with all the new names. A lot of them aren't the most conventional this time around. That or I've reached my upper memory storage limit after eight full generations....and various forms and regionals...and Mega evolutions....AND Gigantamax...
I am glad the "open world" aspect is finally coming to fruition. I want to recapture that feel I've found when starting the older games. I don't think I've truly had said feeling since gen 5.
I'm not worried about new Pokemon spoilers (obviously), but I want to experience some aspects of the game organically on my own. I'm used to being a bit behind the Pokemon curve these days anyway. This is due to their almost yearly release cycle (which I think is partially to blame for all the technical issues I'm reading about) and the fact that I do play other games and have limited time in which ro do so.

I have seen the in game map in videos why is there a greyed area with lines in the north is that for dlc like an area between kalos and pladia so is the dlc based on aquatine/andora or due to all the Africa looking pokemon maybe marroco
I am not spelling good today
@Hayter if you use the flying taxi /fast travel there's a little loading icon with a bunch of them in different colors. I think there's just different ones.
