Open world or not, doesn't really matter.
Don't think too much.

I don't get the complaint with Nat Dex this time around, given that the models and animations are much higher quality. They legit redid tons of pokemon models, yet people are still complaining. Oh well I guess.

It's insane that this game is open world though, and I hope it's going to be good. The trailer was chugging a bit, and some parts of the game looked rough, but those rough shots looked way better than Legends, so I honestly can't complain. The region seems to be based off Spain as well, and the pokemon have actual fur and scale details now.

It's strange that there's version exclusive outfits, and the Japanese logos confirm that there's probably some sort of new gimmick dealing with the star in the logo.

My biggest hope is that there's a good amount of side content, and that the region has genuine caves. Also... please just have more than one trainer battle theme for the more important trainers.

@Fizza
I hope Quaxly final evolution will be like Mighty Ducks.

Well yeah, even if it wasn't an open world I'd still be a bit confused as to why they'd be releasing two Pokemon games like this in one year. For as much as people want to label it a spin off, it is very different to say a Pokemon Snap. It feels like a full Pokemon game. But if this new one is just going to be an expanded, more refined, version of Arceus like nine to eleven months after that game has come out I personally think that'd be kinda weird.

@VoidofLight
Not surprised.
Peoples will always complain.
Peoples will never feel granted or satisfied.
Just ignore the complainers.

Wait until we see the 2nd trailer to getting know if Pokemon Scarlet / Violet will use Legends Arceus style or Sword / Shield style.

Speaking about new feature of Pokemon, what we will see from Gen 9 ?

Gen 6 = Mega Evolution
Gen 7 = Z moves
Gen 8 = Gigantamax
Gen 9 = ???

@VoidofLight seeing how much legends improved between the reveal and the finished product (even if it still isn't a particularly great-looking game, tbf) I'm honestly optimistic about them cleaning stuff up a lot. Gamefreak didn't start working on the game last week and the stuff in the trailer already looked like it'd be fairly far along, I'm sure it'll look fine in November or whenever we're getting the game (altho I guess November may be out if we get Zelda this year. Maybe Xenoblade, Pokémon, Zelda for September, October and November then?)

Oh yeah, holy *****. So in one year we are gonna get Legends Arceus, a true open world Pokemon game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and BOTW 2, possibly with three of those all coming out within a matter of weeks from one another. Man, my Switch is gonna melt. Continuous hours of trying to hold a steady 30 fps framerate as I jump from open world to open world.

@DomGC Yeah, the game already looks better graphically, so there's a chance the final product could be way more polished than Legends ended up.

@DomGC The whole thing is a mess, you've got to pay for Bank, then use the Transporter, then use Home.

@DomGC Yeah. Legends was made by the younger staff and a few people from Black 2 and White 2 I think. This game seems to be a step up and proper evolution though. Can't wait to learn more.

The official site not only confirms that it’s an open world, but that it’s seamless. This may actually be a step up from Legends.

Quaxly could totally become a matador in his final evolution. He has the hair for it, it fits the Spain theme, and the name of his final evolution could be a play on Don Quixote. Also might mean Tauros regional form.

the new fire croc/alligator starter pokemon in Scarlet/Violet reminds me of the old water croc starter from Pokemon HeartGold or at least the old Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games

The starters look cute. I don't see how people can hate on them.

@MsJubilee All three look great, but the cat just feels a bit basic to me in comparison to the other two.

I found something surprising.
The Scarlet name was coincidentally have ever been used by hackers for hacked Pokemon games.
