@SViper But the thing is, the time that Arceus takes place in is clearly without technology that advanced. It contradicts Diamond and Pearl as well, given that Poketch's were cunning edge when they were invented, but here's the god phone that came earlier, which somehow had more features and functioned better than the poketch for some god forsaken reason.

@VoidofLight everyone forgets that this is Pokémon and not all Pokémon games are in same parallel world.

@SViper All pokemon games are in the same world, or follow the same base lore. It's just different regions developed differently. No matter how hard you try, you can't justify a phone, literally handed to you by god, should exist in this time period. If phones existed back then, then they shouldn't even have oil lamps, or use paper books, given that they could just use technology.

Tbh this is the series where "each cartridge and save file you play is set in an alternate universe" is actual canon lore, so that statement is not so farfetched.

However I assume that includes spinoffs and the such, for example, there's even one game set in feudal Japan where you battle a Mewtwo, which would literally be impossible following the main series continuity.

@Eel I mean, yeah every version is in a different reality, but most don't stray from the established core lore. A phone makes no sense in the era Legend's is supposed to be in, and it's even more ridiculous if it's given to you by Arceus.

Eel

I doubt it's given to you by Arceus itself (has that been implied somewhere?). The Galaxy excursion team probably designed it.

It could also tie in with the story of the game. I joked that it was made with Arceus parts, but what that's not entirely false? Perhaps the the whole "study the pokemon!" plan is just a front, and their actual goal is finding and capturing Arceus to use it for some vague lawful-evil goal, like speeding up the advancements in technology. Like that phone.

@Eel There's a screenshot right before you found the thing, where it's laying on the ground and glowing, so they didn't design it.

I mean...yeah, it's glowing. But I don't see how it was placed there by Arceus unless there's specifically some flavor text somewhere that explains that's what happened.

Still salty I never picked up Pokemon Conquest, but at the time I didn't think I'd be into it. I really hope it gets the remake treatment and a second lease on life.

It could also be good old Time Travel®

After all, we know Bill invented a way to send Pokémon and items into the past.

As huge Pokémon fan for at least 18 years even before Generation 7th I started notice glimpses of parallel universe in Pokémon franchise and with 7th Generation Pokémon franchise said straight to our face that parallel universes exist. So still ignoring this is like a living under a rock more then Patrick Star, because he at least have TV there. xD

@SViper Not ignoring that parallel universes exist in the series, as they do, but having a phone in a time period where people didn't have any technology at all makes no sense. Saying that "They developed phones first" also makes no sense, as they would've had the tech to develop their settlement then.

@VoidofLight looks like you will be throwing rocks instead of Pokéballs in that game and will try kill them all. xD

@SViper No? The pokeballs make sense for the time period, as they seem to be powered by steam. Phones wouldn't make sense, unless they were old landline phones that couldn't be ported around with someone. This is just Gamefreak's way of being like "Man, kids can't relate if we don't have a phone in the game, so we have to find a way to fit one in!".

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

@VoidofLight you again mix worlds, this world is not our world, they already even have electric Pokémon. Good example would be if we discover planet with intellectual race, do you think they would advanced same way as us, most likely no. Some parts could be advanced far more then ours and some parts could be less advanced then ours. Do you get it now?
At this point every story in the world can't be explained easy, so let's end it here.

@SViper Yes, it isn’t our world, but using electric pokemon as a point isn’t going to end the argument, especially when people and pokemon don’t generally live together at this time. Again, why the hell are they using books for pokedexes, if they have the tech to make phones? It makes no sense. It’s not logical in any way you look at it.

Imagine Arceus was like Futuristic UFO came to ancient Egypt era and introduce smartphone and futuristic stuffs to those ancient peoples. 😛

And Goodness knows

Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...

@Anti-Matter That would be dumb as hell.
