@Pizzamorg Yeah I doubt I'll still get this just because it's open world...not a big fan of those. The remakes are getting too much hate over stupid stuff. Not a fan of the chibi thing in the overworld but I can see why they went with that, besides it looks unique compared to past remakes anyways. I just hope they don't screw those up in some way as well. and bring back the freakin' Battle Frontier already!

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Joeynator3000 Eh, the world isn't really open world. It seems to still have a structured story and unlock system, and all four regions on the map seem to be separated, with the only way to get to them being to unlock them, and then select them in the hub. They haven't outright confirmed it yet, but the wording in the direct and how the maps look make it apparent that it's not fully open world like people are thinking.

@VoidofLight I mean it doesn't seem to be fully open world, but it's pretty darn close. Everything about the design philosophy just oozes open world even if they're only doling it out to you in small chunks. It can't technically be called an open world, but anyone who doesn't like one probably won't like this game.
The biggest secret in this game = what is the purpose the become Pokemon hunter and the connection with Arceus ?
What is Arceus doing and what about the inspirited Pokemons suddenly become wild ?
And Goodness knows
The wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...
While I enjoy big open world games myself and love the idea of some big open world Pokemon game, I am just not sure the Switch can handle it. Breath of the Wild seems to have been the exception, rather than the rule, with the Switch. I mean just looking Sword/Sheild's technical performance, it is probably best to give the illusion of open space in a controlled enough environment so the game doesn't chug and the entire world isn't popping into existence when you are about a centimetre away. If we do get a Switch 2/Pro/new Nintendo console in like five years, maybe then we'll finally see a true open world Pokemon game and it won't run like total *****.
@Pizzamorg The switch can handle it, it was just Gamefreak being complete ass at optimizing the game in the case of sword and shield. The wild area only chugs when you go online.
BotW and Xenoblade are way more intensive than Sword and Shield, yet run way better, as they’re better optimized.

@Octane each world advances differently, good example that I know is: there was a commercial in one of my country's TV channels group about room being super advanced beyond current advancement while cars with streets was still like from time like that Wild Wild West movie with Will Smith. So in other words let's not forget that Pokémon franchise is about different world that only creates regions based on our own world not our world but with Pokémon.

Well, no. That's like saying you wouldn't mind seeing smart phones in Lord of the Rings, because they already have dragons, and it's all fantasy anyway.
This isn't Lord of the Rings. Pokeballs are not magic either, they're technology.
The game is also not set in like, medieval times. The setting is still fairly "modern", from what we've seen.
And no, I'm not implying that there were smartphones in Meiji-Era Japan either, but this is Pokemon we're talking about. Also, yes the phone is pretty ugly and tacky looking.
Also, here's the thing, the Pokedex has already been replaced by a physical notebook. Which makes sense given the time period. This phone is used to access the map and your quests, why couldn't those be done on a physical map, and an additional notepad for keeping track of quests? Just why.
@Eel 1st and 2nd countries I believe, but most schools for all 12 years in my 3rd country still fully requires that, so. xD

Talking about that, I always found it funny how the gen 1 games imply the Pokedex is a high tech device, when it's clearly meant to look like some sort of ring binder/notebook in-game.
Then again it does come with speakers, so perhaps it's like one of those kids books.

Japan seem to have an odd obsession with mobile phones. I remember when I was younger and really into Super Sentai, they'd be like aliens or something with all this insane technology, giant robots, giant lasers... but access their powers through an early 00s looking flipphone, where they'd literally dial in a number to start the transformation sequence. It would always rip me right out. I guess there is some kind of culture thing I don't get.
The phone absolutely makes no sense. It's seemingly connected to Arceus as well, so it's probably handed down from god.. which makes no sense, as the technology looks like a modern cellphone. I would be fine with this, if it actually looked like an ancient relic, kind of like how the Shiekah Slate was, where it was a tablet, but was old looking, and seemed like it was from an advanced civilization.
