@Pizzamorg Well you commented on the campaign but then added another sentence stating "Arceus doesn't even appear in the game" which specifies game and not campaign, in any case I'm just clarifying as you what you said can be easily misread as the child abducting god does not appear in the game.

I feel like a sequel should be like Taken, have a Liam Neeson type avatar who's out for revenge on Arceus for having his kid being taken away. It would work well with that FPS Pokemon fan game that was just taken down.

Fair enough. I edited it. I appreciate if somehow someone came into the thread and the only post they read of mine was that one that they'd think at no point does it show up in the game. But no, it might appear at end game. It probably does. Who knows.

How are people finishing this game in 25 hours?
I'm 23 hours in and at the second area :'D

@Kaioken at 10.5 hours, I'm at the 3rd area I think( or maybe 4th). Firepit island area and im wondering how I'm holding up compared to others.. I am really taking my time exploring every nook and cranny life I did with botw which is saying something. I rarely do that in games.

@Octane Well, you can expect a new region with entirely new pokemon, but it won’t happen, given Gamefreak won’t ever start a new gen off with a subseries.

I took a day break from the game so I could do the ending with a very fresh mind, now I’m seeing it was kinda a mistake, because I’m being left out of the convo lol.

Current obsession: Persona 4 golden!

Eel

I’m at the part of the story after the fifth boss battle. Got sidetracked because I noticed there’s an Abra outbreak so I won’t be moving on until I see a shiny!

@Octane It is, but it’s a sub series, not the core stuff. The core stuff would be stuff that follows Sword and Shield’s formula, and I doubt Gen 9 will have any of the improvements made with Legends.

@VoidofLight Jebus there's now sub series, core series, mainline series and spin off series all because you don't want to say it MIGHT be possible that Legends gets a new region.

@jump No, it's legit a sub-series. Just like Let's Go. Otherwise it wouldn't have the Legends moniker, and would just be called "Pokemon Cobalt" or something.

jump

@VoidofLight I mean who cares if it’s a sub or a spin off or a mainline or a piece of broccoli as none of that changes what the series could do in the future.

Wasn’t there a line in the game about how silly it is to argue a negative statement? ;p

It's pretty interesting how the Switch has had so many RPG-style pokemon games and none of them play entirely like the others.

We have the Go-inspired Let's Go, modern 3DS-like style Sword and Shield, classic top-down Diamond and Pearl, and this new Action RPG style with Legends Arceus.

It's quite the variety.

@jump I mean, it does somewhat. There'll never be a new region in a Legends game, unless the region was already shown in the Gen the game releases in. Like, if they release Gen 9, they'd probably do a Legends title about the Gen 9 region's lore or something.

I wouldn't mind if they tried the classic gyms format with gameplay similar to this. At least once.

They just gotta evolve their engine to allow for a continuous overworld instead of smaller zones.

I would enjoy if Legend's gameplay loop made it into the next Gen, but I know they won't do that. Gamefreak generally likes keeping stuff like this separate, and plus Competitive players would throw a fit that Pokemon have more limited movepools, the lack of abilities, and the fact that you can switch a pokemon's move at any time. Even if they make the singleplayer aspect good, the main gens generally just cater to the competitive scene.

jump

@VoidofLight you have severe lack of imagination, like what if they just added abilities (which are already coded in the game) into the next Legends game?

I think they can mix and match. Make the battle system more in line with the traditional, while keeping elements from this.

@Eel Yeah, personally I'd like to see them balance it with action RPG noble fights be just for Legendary pokes and also have the traditional gym battles in there too. There are already a few 6 vs 6 pokes trainer battles in Legends so I'm not sure why people think it's an impossible task to have both EVER again.
