@Octane
Actually, i felt Monster Rancher 4 PS2 Battle System was much better than Pokemon Battle style in my opinion.
In Monster Rancher 4, you have opportunity to Counter Attack by chance of 25% (press one from 4 buttons Square, Circle, X, Triangle to guess which button did the opponent press from their attack)
The fighting animation detail was pretty lively and more make a sense than Pokemon.
I guess minor games sometimes have better quality than Very Major games like Pokemon if i admitted.
@Anti-Matter I'm not talking about the battle system. That's fine. Just everything around it, from the nonsensical story that made no sense five minutes in, to all the stupid little things that make this game feel rushed.
Like seriously. I'm paying for online, but it's so terrible that climbing the Mt Everest seems like a fairly simple task compared to connecting with other people for a raid battle.
@Octane You also forgot to mention that every two-three turns the Dynamaxed Pkmn gives a shout that nullify all stats and status changes, which makes ALL not-damage moves pointless in raids, shield or not, including all status moves used to buff your own Pkmn.
@Octane Ugh, speaking of online, it took me an HOUR to battle a friend the other day. One hour of us talking and collaborating on the phone, restarting our systems and retrying etc. In XY? That took me about 30 seconds to match a friend. Why haven't we gotten online as good as gen VI since? It was literally their first time pulling the 'always online' option, and it was incredibly well done comparatively.
@link3710 no idea why you cant just connect using friend codes. The friend system on switch is god awful excluding Rocket League. Also i wish you could play the NSO games with randoms.
@DarthNocturnal I'll give them GTS being on the app is actually for the better. It means we aren't limited to trading Pokemon that are currently available on the GTS, and means it should remain cross-generational. Since it's free (and usable directly on the Switch, no phone needed), it's not really any more work to exit the Sword/Shield app and open Pokemon Home to use it then to get it booted in-game. If it wasn't available on the Switch at all I'd take issue, but I don't really see the need to have it in-game and in-app, especially since they wouldn't be able to let non-SS Pokemon be traded to SS. Also, it's free, meaning you don't have to pay twice to use it. And finally, it'll free up their development time in future games since they no longer need to implement a GTS into each game.
Guess I’m fine with trading being exclusive to the mobile version. At least it means I won’t have a reason to close whatever actual game I’m playing on the switch just to check the gts.
@link3710 I got my first cell phone at 17. Wasnt a smart phone because they didnt exist. It's just a sign of the times. Kinda depressing for sure though. Just dont wanna be a "get off my lawn" old man about it
