It's really shame that for first time Cartridge doesn't have full game when I decided buy Cartridges. That will be bad for people that doesn't own Internet, but own NS and BDSP, so they will need visit relative/friend/aquitence/neighbour for Internet or find free Internet spot in their city/town (fun fact I know at least one place in my city due reason I wanted play Pokémon GO before I bought my new Smartphone and went for limitless Internet plan with my new mobile provider in 2018-08-26 ). :/

@Eel
I was thinking the developer of Pokemon BDSP wasn't really unprofessional to left the game in incomplete condition, give the day one patch to cover the missing things.
They made a bad impression by doing that so.
@thiz
I have never played Pokemon Diamond / Pearl before but to see the developer of Pokemon BDSP have to patch and update the missing stuffs, I was thinking why did they got hired to make a remake game with unprofessional manner ?
@Anti-Matter it is already bad release game Cartridge as not full game, so. @thiz that was already revealed to exist via Data Mines days ago, but looks like it was not obtainable before patch.

One think I don't like that they removed Bubble and gave Water Gun for Piplup in BDSP.

My thoughts are that it isn't ILCA's fault they had to patch the rest in, but the fact that pokemon games are usually developed on strict time schedules, and as they aren't gamefreak, they're not accustomed to having the strict time schedule imposed upon them. They probably needed a bit of a delay, but couldn't move the slot of release from November, as TPC is fairly fickle when it comes to games being released on their schedule, so that the merch and anime don't suffer as a result.

@VoidofLight true. And if they needed stick to November only then they could moved to last Friday of November (Nintendo exclusives loves Fridays) or move to last day of November and that could given them extra 7 or 11 days, but that's not much too.

Day one patches are the new norm I suppose. It is weird that they released the game in that much of an unfinished state, but I suppose it could've been even worse.
Hopefully future prints will come all in the cartridge. I'd buy the other version then.
Yeah, it's a lot better than the 5 odd gb download you'd heard, though, @X-Slayer .... & the download does sound like an actual update, as well, so it might well not have been done in time to do the carts, anyway
I'm pretty sure this is the first Nintendo game ever to have significant chunks of the base game added via day 1 patch. It's pretty standard for Xbox and Playstation given that physical is nothing more than a DRM key on PS4, XB1, PS5 and Series X|S but with Switch this only really happened with 3rd parties trying to cheap out on cartridge sizes.
Between this update and the future update, it does feel like time ran out and they weren't allowed to delay.
Okay, I must say that all the news from the past couple of days has sold me on this game.
I am still quite disappointed that gen 5-8 Pokemon are nowhere to be seen (such a missed opportunity - one of the best things about HGSS was the complete compatibility with Sinnoh, including the ability to get new evolutions of Johto/Kanto Pokemon; this was also one of the most disappointing things about both Kanto remakes). I also feel that the new graphical style simultaneously fails to capture the magic of the original games and fails to push the series forward.
Regardless, the combination of several new features, access to the Platinum dex through the underground, and the availability of a number of legendaries makes this a game I'd like to at least experience.
@Pizzamorg not only Online for Battles and Trades, but Online for Contests as well and added NPC that gives you a item, after becoming a Champion, which one was only in HGSS under different name. Plus extremely noticeable indicator for swarms in area too.
I live in Lithuania UTC+2 and pre-ordered Dual Pack. So if I lucky I should get message at 19th between 8 to 10 AM UTC+2 that is posted in Post Machine and this is code to receive it from it. And at worst case scenario that should happen at 20th till 2 PM UTC+2.

@Grumblevolcano Given that TPC imposes strict schedules, I wouldn't be surprised if time ran out for them to finish the game before they started shipping copies.

@Buizel Eh, I feel like the art style does manage to capture the style of the original games, albeit it's a bit rough in a few areas due to the colors being muted or dull. The 3D models being chibis are supposed to represent the original's sprites in full 3D effectively, hence why they went with the chibi look in the first place.

Yes if anything I’d say they absolutely tried to imitate the original graphics a little bit too much. Even the washed out colors represent the DS games a lot more faithfully than the high contrast saturation they had in the reveal trailer.
However, it’ll be nice to return to how the games used to look. Not everything needs to conform to the look of the current generation, it’s ok to mix and match with some games.
