@Eel I mean, I guess, but Z-Moves are culturally significant to Alola. Plus, I don't imagine they'll come back, due to really failing to captivate people as much as megas have. Plus, Gigantamax was effectively them trying to merge the two, but pretty much failing, since they didn't change stats like how megas did, and the g-max moves weren't that great either.

@VoidofLight Yeah, Pokemon fans are lucky in terms of remakes, they update a lot more than other remakes do and most remakes feel more like remasters than legit remakes. The only other IP I've seen that really makes changes on that scale is Metroid.
IMO, I don't consider anything that's mainly just a graphical update a "remake" even if it rebuilds the assets, if it just updates the graphics (and especially if it rebuilds them to be similar to the original) I consider it a remaster. A video game is more than just graphics, so if all they're really updating is the graphics, that feels more like a touch-up than a legitimate recreation. And I say that as someone who's not a Final Fantasy fan and isn't really familiar with how different the original FFVII is vs. the remake, this is just how I've always viewed the concept of a remake. A remake shouldn't just be updating the graphics, it should be adjusting the gameplay with modern QoL improvements, adding new content and sidequests, adding or updating the level design where possible (without having to overhaul the levels to the point where they feel completely different from the original) to make the game larger, more open and more polished, fleshing out the story, etc. Make the entire game feel like how it would be if it were made today instead of just taking the original and slapping an HD coat of paint on it. That to me is how I tell the difference between a remake and a remaster, and we have far too many of the latter and far too few of the former.
Anyway, as far as BDSP, I really like Sinnoh so I'll probably still buy BDSP unless it does something really bad to screw it up. But for any other game I'd be EXTREMELY concerned about it being a 1:1 remake and would probably end up skipping it.
@Eel I think if Game Freak had any further interest in Z-Moves, they'd bring back the gameplay but call it something else. That seems to be a trend lately, they seem to like the idea of "region exclusive mechanics" (probably because it's good for marketing to make each game feel like it has a unique hook), but they've had a lot of "exclusive mechanics" that are just reskins of something they did in the past (see: Amie/Refresh/Camp, Poke Ride/Secret Techniques, O-Powers/Roto-Lotto, etc.). Z-Moves specifically are heavily integrated into Alola to the point where Z-Moves themselves will probably never show up in another region, but they could bring back a super move mechanic of some kind and just call it something different (and as @VoidofLight mentioned, they attempted to do so with Dynamax/Gigantamax). I doubt that they will in this case though, since Sinnoh focuses more on evolutions, so I think Megas are the most likely burst mechanic to return.
These actually look much better compared to how they did when they first got revealed. I’m happy they improved the underground, added pokemon walking with you, and kept contests. Hopefully there’ll be way more to come later.

Can’t wait, these look better and better with every new video.
And that’s so unusual for Pokémon games, I love it. I think the last time they actually showed important improvements between public showings of a game in development was generation 2!
There's really no reason to leave it out though since these are remakes. I just want to know if it's in, what has been changed or added. I just don't want another tower clone....and only that. >.<

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Joeynator3000 While you can say there's no reason to leave it out... I don't believe any Pokemon game, remake or new, has ever had any post-game details revealed before launch. Even the original battle frontier was basically a mystery, it was only Scott's appearances we really knew about before Emerald came out.
While I'm still not entirely sold on the 3D models vs. sprite art during the battle scenes, the chibi 3D overworld aesthetic is growing on me. I liked a lot of what I saw in the trailer and am glad they're enhancing one of my favorite areas of the game: the Underground. Pokemon following the player and changeable outfits are a huge plus too. I refused to play as the female protagonist in Platinum since I disliked her outfit change. Same case when I played through SoulSilver, actually. I'm glad outfits are here to stay, though I won't pick up every combination in the game or anything. XD
Weirdly, I'm looking forward to this game after playing Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu.
A few weeks ago I tried the demo for Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee. I skipped it back then due to the lack of battles, but it sort of changed the way I play Pokémon games. Now I try to capture all Pokémon I battle, even if I captured it before, and the wild battles become more fun now that I don't bother with which Pokémon is fighting the wild Pokémon.
Granted, the main issue I have with Pokémon games is not solved - easy turn based battles with a single Pokémon at a time, and battles that are separate from exploration triggering a transition scene everytime I touch a wild Pokémon. But changing the goal from battling thousands of Pokémon using the same moves and watching the same animations without even thinking to just moving along capturing Pokémon helped me enjoy the games again.
Has anyone else felt "relieved" with the gameplay proposed by Let's Go?
@RenanKJ : I thought it was a very welcome change as battles can become quite monotonous and tedious after a while. I certainly enjoyed catching the same Pokémon over and over a LOT more than battling the same Pokémon repeatedly in past games. I was hoping that Gen IV would have been given the "Let's Go" treatment instead (as what we're actually getting is quite underwhelming), but what's done is done, sadly.
While I wouldn't mind Gen II also getting the Let's Go treatment (and I'm surprised that they haven't already as such a game could have recycled all of the Kanto assets from Let's Go, Pikachu/Eevee), I would much rather see a reimagined Johto instead.
Or we might get lucky and have Let's Go Gen II in late 2022 and Pokémon Legends: Celebi in early-mid 2023?
Porygon did nothing wrong.

If it hasn't been made apparent already (because it wasn't announced prior, to my knowledge) the dual pack will include a dual-cartridge Steelbook similar to the one issues for Sword/Shield.
