@iLikeUrAttitude no where in my post implied that? I just know that famitsu is likely to reveal more smash info that was implied for the direct to show first. nowhere did I say I wanted a smash direct
Well Famitsu has already started circulating, and there is not a single Direct leak to be found in it.
The only major Nintendo-related news from this week's issue was that an anime metroidvania/roguelike featuring women with magically-expanding breasts is coming to Switch. I certainly hope that that announcement wasn't meant for the direct.
Mario Galaxy is ten years old, and now I feel old.
Is Famitsu digital only or is there physical copies? If it's digital only, Nintendo could've made an agreement such that Direct stuff was delayed until after the rescheduled Direct.
@Viewbob Wow, someone actually asking for 3DS games.
Honestly, it surprises me we haven't seen Nocturne or Nine ported to Nintendo systems considering that's where the rest of the series resides. Nine especially needs a second shot at life.
@Viewbob Sonic 3 & Knuckles will always be my favorite Sonic game. It really deserves a re-release, although I think that a Switch port would make more sense than 3DS at this point. Remastering it with Mania's visual flares would be pretty sweet too.

@FaeKnight More of a remaster still. A remake would change drastic parts of the game to either adapt it for the modern age (like Resident Evil 2 Remake versus OG Resident Evil 2) or fix a lot of problems of the original game (like Metroid: Zero Mission to OG Metroid). A remaster is comparatively much less ambitious in scope, only opting for minor changes and graphical changes. Even things that may have a big performance boost like Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 on PS4 is still a remaster considering you're still getting mostly the same basic game, just with a bit added content.
A remake of Sonic 3 and Knuckles would make the game look extremely different, and frankly speaking we don't need that. All it needs is the Drop Dash, the Super-peel Out, and the improved physics and controls from CD and Mania (because I'm sorry, but compared to CD and Mania, the original Genesis trilogy's main crippling flaw of Castlevania jump physics when jumping out of a roll or Spin Dash automatically makes those three games worse than CD and Mania by a long mile. It works well in Castlevania, but in a high-speed platformer like Sonic, no way).
And an option that lets Sonic have every move in his movepool, with the Instashield, Drop Dash, and Super-peel Out would be fantastic, to give Sonic an even greater edge over Tails and Knuckles for fun. (Even though Sonic is already better due to his Instashield, elemental shields, or Drop Dash)

@FaeKnight The jump from Genesis/CD to Mania isn't all THAT big. The main difference is different colors for Sonic and friends, more frames of animation, a more varied color palette, and a more consistent framerate (rip CD's jittery framerate). If you were to remake one of the games with Mania physics and artstyle, it won't be so radically different from the original game like in the examples I gave above with REmake2 and Zero Mission.
And remasters can have some new assets. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 had to be rebuilt because the source code was lost, but the same overall gameplay and feeling was still kept. A remake would be changing big parts of control, game design, level design, or story to make it still overall the same game but much different in content/execution. A remaster, no matter how pretty, is still a remaster if it plays practically identically to the original release with nearly identical level design and such.
Some games can potentially MAYBE blur the line between the two like DMC: Devil May Cry's 60fps, turbo and lock-on, and some changes to enemies (this the most important detail aside from the 60fps), but overall DMC on Xbox One/PS4 is still the same overall game as the original release.
