@Octane
I agree. If Nintendo's "big" Holiday title was a collection of ports, it would definitely not go well with fans, especially after such a lackluster year, and especially with big launch titles from Sony and Microsoft.
Nintendo working with Frontier on something to do with amusement parks? As much as I'd like Planet Coaster: Nintendo Edition, it wouldn't exactly be the best idea unless it were similar to Thrillville. It could be the next Nintendo Land type experience, where we can build rollercoasters and race tracks and ride them. Head to a number of sideshow attractions and play small Nintendo gameplay experiences. Got to the toilet and play a Pokémon Link type game to restock it.
Yeah, working with Nintendo would be a good way to bring back the Thrillville type experience and make it something that looked unique. And I'm only going to set myself up for disappointment by thinking of such.
@DarkRula I like the sound of that! With Super Nintendo World meant to have been opened this year perhaps it was intended to be some kind synergy Nintendo skin Thrillville/Planet Coaster job like they did with Hyrule/Fire Emblem Warriors and Cadence of Hyrule.
I would hope in the hypothetical game it would be more than just Mario themes though. Star Fox, F Zero, Metroid would be a use for a Tomorrowland type area, have a water park area with Wave Race and Zelda's Water Temple just being some kind of tedious slow attraction, Luigis Mansion as haunted house ride, they have a few princess already with Peach, Zelda Rosalina etc
@jump Oh, indeed. With the Thrillville template, there's scope to bring back plenty of the long-forgotten games into a playable form. Wave Race, 1080, Custom Robo, even F-Zero. That's not to say there wouldn't be representation of the current known IP such as Splatoon, ARMS, Metroid, Zelda, and Mario. Plenty of Nintendo to go around, with parks being based on the IP as well (though I would want each individual park areas to be larger than those included in Thrillville).
We'll just have to see what happens. Since this is a collaboration, it can be featured in a Partner Showcase, so even if a general Mini doesn't happen, there's a chance for it to still get announced.
@Dezzy That's almost certainly fake. Crystal Chronicles remastered already has a release date in a couple weeks. Why would they announce a release window for it?
I'm not worried at all about the future lineup of software for Nintendo Switch. Yes, it's true that Nintendo is keeping awfully quiet about it, but they have so many development teams, both first and second party, that we're sure to get many more quality games on our favorite system before it's being replaced by its successor.
There's Monolith, Retro, HAL, Grezzo, ND Cube, Intelligent Systems, Game Freak, Good Feel, Camelot, Creatures, their many development teams inside Nintendo EPD and more that I'm forgetting right now.
Most major Nintendo IPs got new entries in their respective franchises on Switch, but there are many lesser known brands that could get new games as well. And with today's sales numbers revealed, the future for Nintendo Switch owners is looking very bright I'd say.
@Slowdive Ohhhh. Thanks to tell us. Now, I already know what expect. At least, I think I understood what is about. It did me smile. It let clear some other rumors was just guessing too.
@Don Super Mario Bros launch birthday is sept 13. Maybe they'll say something then, if its coming. With covid though, Im not getting my hopes up too high.
@Don No, still think it's some sort of Star Fox Grand Prix error. I think the rest of the Nintendo published year will be Bravely Default II in September, Pikmin 3 in October, 3D World in November and some DLC/updates sprinkled across the rest of the year (e.g. Crown Tundra for November, Smash character for September/October, Cadence of Hyrule DLC in August and October, Animal Crossing updates in at least October and 1 other month).
@DarkRula they have a few princess already with Peach, Zelda Rosalina etc
Eh, I personally doubt Nintendo would allow characters. JK Rowling certainly didn't, and Nintendo is even more particular than she is about how their intellectual property is to be used. A company that has to direct Disney on how Bowser is supposed to hold his coffee cup isn't about to let some random 20 year-old trounce around in a Princess Peach costume.
@IceClimbers It's more that I can't see there being nothing between Paper Mario and Pikmin 3 (3 and a half months) but I also think the announcement of Pikmin 3 means no currently unannounced Nintendo games are releasing before November (otherwise the unannounced game would've been announced instead of Pikmin 3). Bravely Default II in September is the case which makes the most sense if there is a Nintendo published title between Paper Mario and Pikmin 3. If Bravely Default II is delayed to 2021, I think the gap is more likely than an unannounced title appearing.
@DarkRula they have a few princess already with Peach, Zelda Rosalina etc

That seems like an outdated view on Nintendo who are progressively looking for more collaborations. In the last few years they are allowing more freedom with their stuff with the horrible Minion studio making a Mario movie, an indie developer access to Zelda, theme parks, Lego Mario, Nintendo skins in Minecraft/Skyrim etc.
And yet, they won't let Intelligent Systems create any original characters or modify original ones in Paper Mario... So even if Nintendo's trying new things, it doesn't mean they're not super strict about their ips anymore
Creating new characters is one thing but this is having an employee of a theme park dressed as a character meeting and greeting, not some type of sexy steam punk Zelda cosplayer.
Id be incredibly surprised if they don’t have character meet and greets at the real Super Nintendo World.
Does anyone else feel like it would make a lot more sense if Nintendo did something like a Galaxy 1+2 remastered collection, a 64+Sunshine collection, then a 3D World Deluxe each at $60?
I know no reputable sources have said anything like this is going to happen, but it just doesn't seem like Nintendo would remaster three (or four if Galaxy 2 is in there, hopefully) and then sell all three of them for $60 in total
