Topic: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

This is a game that deserves chat. Most of us here would just shoot the breeze as we all are veteran hunters and for most hunts don't need to coordinate attacks or strategies. Other then cap, kill, bomb, or sleep there's not much to say unless you have inexperienced hunters in the party.

I remember when I was so hyped for Tri. At first I wanted to learn all I could and soak up all the info as fast as I could. After about 350 hours it became more about the chat then the hunts. We would still hunt but it was a secondary objective. We would chat for 30 minutes then finish the hunt just in time.

Those were the days! @Joeynator3000 was one of those I hunted with on a regular bases. He's actually the only one left from those days I remember. I joined these forums to hunt with people and I'm still here to do the same. All be it my online time is far less then it was then.

Monster Hunter 3...the first time I got into the series. Thinking it was some sort of Pokemon rip-off at first. lol
I think I got it mixed up with another series which was Pokemon-like (Monster Rancher), so I didn't care about it until someone told me "boss battle simulator". That's all it took for me to get into it. xD

I don’t do too well in voice chats. In English I mean.

Voice chat would go along way. I still dont fully understand Nintendo on this one unless it takes that much away from the already limited resources of the Switch. (Not to say any other platform is limitless)

I have to say I forgot all the grinding that goes into making ammo for my Bowgun. Part of me wants to buy it but I also want to save my zenny because I will want to make every single Heavy Bowgun as I always tend to do with my weapon of choice.

I made a lot of friends playing Tri and some I still chat with to this day not just here. Text chatting was not the same as voice but still fun and maybe easier for those that didn't want to speak.

...Okay you know what? Change of plans, I don't use my 3DS much these days to waste money on a new system. But I also don't use my Wii U much either, I think it's time (especially with Smash Ultimate approaching)...it's worth $50. I might as well trade it in and the few games I have for it and get Generations Ultimate.

At least I get a small boost since I started a new game in Generations, so whatever, lol

EDIT: Which reminds me, if I get Generations Ultimate physically (not sure what I'm doing yet), will I still have to remove XX from my system completely? I know that you have to do this if you go digital, because the eshop will count XX and GU as the same game.

Welp, going to GameStop tonight, say goodbye to my Wii U, lol.
I'll just get the game physically if possible, less work.

....I forgot to grab the Wii U's sensor bar, lol...I could've still traded it in, but would lose $20 (which is stupid, but whatever...). So I'll just wait and trade it in tomorrow.

Should I have high rank gear before attempting Dreadqueen Rathian? I have like 35 tickets for her but have been too scared to try it.

Yeah make sure you have some high rank stuff before any deviant. I went up against Redhelm back on Generations with low rank and failed the quest in minutes.

If you fought the deviants before then maybe you'll be fine.

Eh, it's GameStop, I never had issues with them in general, but their trading system can be bs sometimes.

As for the Wii U, no idea, most of the games I have or still interested in have an enhanced port or 3DS port or something. Even if they don't, they're getting sequels, so I had no reason to keep it anymore. So I can't help you there, lol.

Wii U does have some nice exclusives, though. Like Super Mario Maker and MH3U, I enjoyed XCX...but open-world games aren't for me and it started getting boring for me after a while. Couldn't even finish the game, sadly, it seems to be the same story with XC2.

Reasons to own a WiiU:

-MH3U
-Virtual Console (particularly, GBA, DS and Wii)
-Super Mario 3D World
-Super Mario Maker
-TLoZ: This and That HD.
-The only gaming system capable of legally playing Harvest Moon 64 since the Nintendo 64.

Ironically it's the system with the most main Animal Crossing games available. And none of them was made for the system.

Actually, DS games weren't that great on Wii U. They played well and all that, but...you HAVE to use the Gamepad. It was just irritating that you couldn't have more options, including screen layout.
