Topic: Monster Hunter Rise

Oh my goodness.

This review is the single greatest take on Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak I've encountered.

@Ulysses ha. yeah, it looks very cool. i'm wearing it as layered armor now. The skills are great for Gunlance too.

@MisterMan I'm going to learn Gunlance for the first time now, thanks to that armor

@Ulysses Awesome. It's really fun. It takes some time to get used to it, but once you do, it's a blast. There's a lot of good tutorial videos on Youtube too.

Just fought Sunbreak's final boss, no idea where to rank it...dunno if it tops Ahtal-Ka. It's definitely up there with Dalamadur and Gog, though. (Shara was alright, too)

Does anyone want to set up hunting parties? I don't know if I have everyone added from here, or if we're supposed to go to the Friend code forum for that. But I feel like people who play Sunbreak will be more likely to come here.

@MisterMan I definitely will check them out! It helps that Gunlance is understandably popular with content creators. Always wanted to learn it, and it seems like Gunlance is the best its ever been!

I would love to play with others here, but I am sorry, I betrayed the Switch for PC.

Those One Piece jackets by the way? chefs kiss. Fashion Game will always be the true end game. Me with the doot, my friend with the bow. You can't see the jackets on us that well, but we are both wearing them like some kind of gang. 😂

Fought the final boss last night...all I can say is...

That first fight with Garangolm was pretty epic. Great stuff. And the hunting horn you can make from his parts looks surprisingly excellent. Guess I'll be grinding him for his... er... "juice" soon.

Got to credits myself as well. The last fight was pretty awesome. I don't think anything will heat Ahtal-Ka though.

I managed to farm Garangolm today and made his armor set along with his Switch Axe. Then I realized he has a Great Sword, so I crafted that and switched back to GS as intended.

MR3 unlocks all kinds of stuff. And The Citadel? Oh my gosh. I think that's the best map in the entire series. It's so vast!

I love how Garangolm's skills synergize with his weapons. The Switch Axe has exhaust phials, and the set comes with a skill that increases exhaust. Also a stun skill that works well with Great Sword. And Focus which works well on both. Slots up the wazoo too.

The Garangolm Palico armor is ridiculous though. I had to get it. But I eventually switched to Shogun Ceanataur palico armor since it's a literal crab lol.

...Were you bombarded with the "What happened?!"s? xD

Anyways yeah the fight is up there, Ahtal-Ka is probably still #1 for me.

@JaxonH I've farmed him enough tonight to make his equipment set, but I decided against it, since I'm not really a fan of the skills his sets provides.

Did make the hunting horn, though.

The next armor set I'm looking at is the Death Stench one, which provides good defense, and seems to jive well with a long sword setup.

The Garangolm legs are excellent for the Hunting Horn. I've been using those legs exclusively since I unlocked them.

I just got to MR 50 and there was a pretty cool fight that I won't spoil (although most of you probably know already). I can't wait to level up even more and see how crazy the monster fights get. The set from that monster is also pretty cool!

I don't know what the MR 50 and 100 monsters are yet.

Um...? I vaguely remember some piece of dialogue being repeated a couple times but whatever it was I wasn't too bothered about it. Was too much into the spectacle of it all to notice.

Just beat Malzeno last night! Wow is he a fun, yet frantic and pretty hard monster! No spoilers, but his attacks are Magnamalo level hard. Great fight though.

I've officially completed over 300 quests with HBG! Doesn't feel like a real achievement though until I get to 500

@Ralizah I've been tempted to return to the Hunting Horn after looking at the Master Rank versions because they look really good. Besides, it's always nice to have an HH buddy in the group. Right now I'm a bow user and aside from the aesthetic of the one I use, I'm pretty happy with my build. It's not meta or anything but it allows me to make mistakes without getting karted even with the strongest monsters while still doing nice damage.

@TeeJay I think that you'll have a pretty good time with that one, I really enjoyed the fight. It has been one of the coolest I've had until now.

lol, usually it doesn't bother me much either, but during that quest Fio just kept repeating the same line during a certain attack/event in that fight.

Wowww I beat the main final boss at MR6. Credits rolled. What a fun fight!! He's challenging with hugely intimidating attacks, but not like Allmother ridiculously hard. Felt like a sweet spot: not too frustrating, with extra mechanics thrown in, but not too convoluted. One of my favorite storyline bosses. Great design too.

This game! It's just so amazing. And now I still have MR50 and MR100 to look forward to, plus Anomaly hunting! Not to mention all the other content I was neglecting until I unlocked my hunter rank.
