I suppose you’re right, but since we never got MH4 in the west, Gore Magala felt like the flagship, since it was the star of the core game we never got. They put Gore Magala on the cover art for the game too.

But as for Seregios, I love it. One of my favorites, actually.

Imgur is actually usually great. But I only use it for collections of pics you can scroll through. For single pics, postimage.org has always worked great for me. I copy the “Hotlink for forums” link in the list of choices provided once uploaded. You just have to remove the ad links that get pasted in sometimes. It happens randomly but, once you know what to look for it’s easy to remove that part of the link once posted in the text box.

.....Anyways yeah, 4U's flagship was Seregios. lol

Yeah, I think their main focus today were on other games.

I’ve actually really warmed up to Magnamalo. I really like it now. Although a seems a fair amount of people seem to dislike it online, and think it’s too over designed. Which I can understand but I feel like we’ve had multiple flagships like this.

Especially in Generations I feel like I remember people complaining about Glavenus (Back when he was still called Dinovaldo) being too on the nose, unrealistic. and overdesigned. I remember you were around a lot for that @Joeynator3000

Started playing through MHW with friends on gamepass and then monster hunter rise was announced! Just now getting into the series but excited for the new game. Also dunno if this has been said or not but monster hunter 4 ultimate is on sale for 70% off in the NA eshop on 3ds. Just got it myself if anyone is looking to do some co-op sometime.

How likely is it that the flagships that missed out on being added to World in Iceborne will return in Rise? For a refresher those are Lagiacrus, Gore Magala, Seregios, the 3 remaining Fated Four members(Astalos, Gammoth, Mizutsune), and Valstrax.

I’m not sure we’ll get all of them, but certainly some. Keep in mind Rise will also get new monsters added in with updates over time, and will also have a lot more added with the Ultimate expansion, so I think overall, when everything is said and done, we’ll have seen at least half of those (maybe most or all if we’re super lucky)

Oh goodness, I would just be guessing.

But if I did guess, I would say Mitzusune is a lock. I also think Astalos will return too since it didn’t make it into World. Glavenus is less likely since it was in both MHGU and World, but it is really popular so I could see them adding it in the Ultimate Edition. Gammoth probably won’t make it, but who knows.

I also think we’ll see either Gore Magala or Seregios, at least one of them, but not necessarily right away. Probably via updates or Ultimate Edition. Brachydios is very popular, but it’s also been in so many games they may choose to omit it in favor of others. But again, who knows. Lagiacrus is highly likely IF they can get leviathans into the game. I’m thinking they will be able to since the areas have flatter terrain and it’s in the RE Engine, and they know it’s in high demand and couldn’t make it into World.

But ya, these are just guesses and speculation. It definitely seems like they’re putting a focus on new monsters, as they did for World. But World ended up getting a ton of monsters over time via Iceborn and updates. I’m pretty sure this game will have a boatload of monsters too once everything’s said and done.

I think Gammoth is probably one of the more likely monsters to be in the game tbh. We see that Popo are in the game and since it's in, we''re very likely to have a snow area. Gammoth is basically the Popodrome and is a unique monster so I could see them include it to add more variety to the roster

Yeah I expect Mizu, and if he's in then Lagi wouldn't be far behind. Gammoth and Astalos are also possibilities.

Gore Magala and Valstrax have become very popular over a period of time, such that I remember a Japanese fan survey a few months back asking them what old monsters they wanted to see in Iceborne, and these two got the top 2 placements(Val was 1, Gore was 2). If Capcom cares about what specific monsters fans want to see return, then I could see them bringing back these two flagships.

Oh my gosh. So much to digest!

• No paintballs. Find the monster and then it shows on the map. Can send owl to spot monsters (similar to the blimp in earlier titles?)
• Blood returns
• Optional damage numbers return
• Voiced shoutouts can be adjusted or turned off in options
• Camp returns like MH World for restocking (though it doesnt seem like you can fast travel back, which should help balance it better than World)
• 2 Wirebugs each on a timer that's about 5-10 seconds
• Can find wirebugs in the maps that bump you up to 3 wirebugs for that quest
• Riding the palamute allows full player control
• Shortcuts return
• Can pet your palamute, and play with your palico
• graphics look insane
