Topic: Mario Strikers Battle League

So are we just waiting for this release now? We had Triangle Strategy, Kirby, and Advance Wars delayed. So...this is next I think? Come on Nintendo, give us more gameplay/trailers.

Do we normally have to wait this long for an English version of a trailer? I've been really wanting to watch it and analyze it for myself, but it's hard to do when it's narrating in Japanese.

@StarPoint I agree, I thought we'd have something by now. The intro video is a fun bridge at least.

Anyone preordering? I’m waiting for the Currys in the UK to announce theirs (mid may) to assess all options. I think around £35 would be worth it

@Saf01 I usually wait to preorder until reviews come in a day or two before. However, in this case, I might preorder it earlier. I'm super excited for this one.

What do you guys think the chances are they do a beta test like they did with mario tennis?

Kind of waiting on any more announcements or preorder freebies before ordering. I’ll likely pick it up anyway though.

@StarPoint The trailers and next level’s track record give me confidence that the game will be good, but yeah waiting for reviews is smart

@defhed decent possibility, 8 players in a match seems like a lot and something they’d want to test

@sisodinr I hope they confirm future updates for introducing new characters, the current roster of 10 is a bit small

This will be the first major release since triangle strategy that I'm really excited for. I've never played a strikers game before, so we'll see what all the fuss is about.

So I think the online stuff seems really interesting. The fact that you can join a club and rank up, allowing you to play with players of your skill level sounds really fun and a good motivation to keep playing.

@StarPoint Definitely, the success of that aspect will be key to it’s longevity

@Saf01 hm.. there is no question more characters are coming.. 5v5? thats the same character every game..

@defhed Next level should outright say they’ll do future updates with new characters just to ease concerns

@Saf01 That would be nice. Ideally, I think they could tell us that there are unlockable characters, but wouldn't tell us who those characters are. Just for an element of surprise.

I feel like Nintendo could have been sitting on this game for a bit. Like it’s possible Next Level finished it months ago (or maybe longer) and Nintendo knew they could release it as needed in the calendar. Their releases are super methodical, and they’re slowly rolling out footage/features. It feels a bit different from the Mario Golf Super Rush release, and aligns a bit more with their recent agenda of promoting online play. I hope it gets NSO app connectivity for a voice chat feature with the online clubs.
