@Joeynator3000 I haven't seen any technical issues but I didn't have any in the first game either.

...Yeah I heard others never having issues on their game. It's really bizarre...

I've even tried deleting and redownloading the game, but I still run into crashes with some challenge levels, ran into game breaking bugs that forced my characters out of bounds (had to restart the level to fix), and then there was World 3. The haunted area with the raising walls maze? That caused all sorts of bizarre visual bugs, objects/textures flickering like crazy, even worse is that if you leave the World the glitch carries over to other areas, and even affected the title screen. Had to restart the game entirely. :c

I do not get it. All the reviews and comments say the game is easy, yet I was wiped on my first try on the FIRST boss fight.
I mean, at least give me some hint that the boss runs at you and otherwise wont attack, but no they want me to be wiped after 2-3 turns and watch youtube video to understand the strategy the devs wanted me to use.
The first game that is considered to be more difficult did not throw at me such difficult boss at the beginning of the game.

I have played xcom2, and am playing strategy games since 90s but everyone else get it easy and only I am struggling with this game. wth

I want more than just the boss fights to provide any challenge though.

Everyone's got their own opinions.

Reviewer A says the game is a breeze and laments lack of difficulty.

Gamer B says the game is ballz to the wall hard and laments the extreme difficulty.

Gamer C says the bosses are just right but the rest is too easy.

Gamer D says it all feels just right.

This is why the game has so many difficulty options, people. In addition to 3 choices, you can fine tune damage output by enemies, HP, damage your characters take, etc.

They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)

Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)

Wait, I can make the game harder than hard?

@psychoBrew
If you set the difficulty to hard and then max out the damage done by enemies in settings and max out their HP, I'm pretty sure the game will be too hard for 99% of ppl.

If that's still not enough, I'm not sure there's much to be done.

Hey guys,
I'm going to be picking up Sparks of Hope once those typical Ubisoft sales kick in and, ever since I read the review here on NLife, there's been a question I've been wanting to ask: would you recommend starting on normal or hard difficulty? I've heard the campaign be described as generally breezy and whenever I get around to it, I'm wondering whether or not starting on hard right away would make the experience a bit more exciting. If anyone here has played the whole game on normal/hard themselves, please let me know your thoughts on the difficulty!

@Fizza You can change the difficulty at any time so pick one and see how it goes.

Found a new bug. The penguin on the cliff in world 2 disappeared on me. Can't complete the challenge. Unless there is a fix I can't 100% it. Other than one crash its been ok through the first two worlds.

Everyone’s got a different answer for that.

All I can tell you is I play a lot of strategy games (completed half a dozen different Fire Emblem games, played Triangle Strategy and the first Mario Rabbids, as well as some XCOM, XCOM 2, Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4, etc), and to me, Normal is the way to go. I’ve already come so close to failure even on some World 1 maps. I know for a fact if I was playing this on Hard, I’d give up in frustration.

But, maybe I’m just not that good at the genre. Nonetheless, Normal is my recommendation.

Still can't put it down. Poor Bayonetta 3 lol. It would've been great to play for Halloween, but im on the 3rd world and 13 or so hours in. I got a while to go.

Even more than I could have hoped for. THREE significant additions. I'm there for it

@Fizza The campaign isn't breezy, lol. At least, not after the first world. Some of these levels have been kicking my butt on hard mode, and even normal is a decent challenge on some.

The good news is that you appear to be able to freely change the difficulty mid-game.

Ugh. Men.

@JaxonH Gotta say, sounds impressive for a season pass. I'll definitely be playing this through again next year with all the DLC.

My coworker Anthony, one of the project managers, is one of those ppl everyone likes and is friends with everyone... he got a Switch in 2017 after I told him Rocket League was coming. Ever since he's turned into a massive Switch fan. He was just in my office 5 min ago telling me about how good Mario Rabbids is. I gave him Bayonetta 2 as a Christmas gift back in 2018 (had an extra copy from the Climax Edition imported from Japan) and he LOVED it. So I showed him swinging around like Spiderman in Bayo3 on my Switch just now. Said he's definitely getting it once done with Sparks of Hope.

We were just discussing the expansion for it and how good it sounds. If we get Fire Emblem Engage, Sparks of Hope expansion, Advance Wars, Marvel Midnight Suns, Metal Slug Tactics and Front Mission 2, next year could be a continuation of the strategy genre onslaught.

Finished the game last night. Have to say I am bit disapointed after loving the first one. The game is fairly easy but with some huge difficulty spikes later in the game (and with a level cap and no way to get all skills you end up with two choices Git Gud or lower difficulty), as the game gabe me my favourite team almost from the get go (Mario + both peaches) I was never compeled to try anyone else unless the game made me do it (and I struggled with those because i rely on protection and health recover from my normal team. The world's are kind of fun to explore but I miss the challenges from the previous game and I don't feel the trade off is worth it.
Still a good game but imo the first entry is better in almost everything

I'm onto the 5th world I believe? It's amazing how this loop of gameplay just works and never gets stale. That's how you know the game is amazing. The little puzzles here and there also help, but the loop is just perfect. I can't play for just an hour, I pretty much play for 2hrs each session. I'm 20hrs in so far and love it! Definitely my #2 GOTY nomination.

It was soooo hard peeling myself away from this game to go back to Persona 5 Royal (and then Bayonetta 3). I'd originally planned to just try it out, and ended up 100% the first world, at which point I had to force myself to stop.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing I have this game waiting, whenever I finish Bayonetta 3 and Persona and the gobs of other games on the way (Dragon Quest Treasures, Tactics Ogre, Front Mission... before you know it Fire Emblem and Persona 4 Golden will be releasing)
