I dropped the ACNH DLC pretty quick......I mean ACNH is kind of a "stint and break" game anyway where I go hard for a few weeks and then log off for a few months and then get inspired to do something new......but the Happy Home Paradise just hasn't grabbed me yet. I did three houses, including one for an invited villager but meh. I'm happy with my own island for now.

Recently dropped Metal Max Xeno Reborn, Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Disco Elysium. Metal Max Xeno Reborn? Drab, slow, and boring. Skip. Zelda: Skyward Sword? I've never enjoyed 3D Zelda games and SS isn't any different; terrible control scheme. Skip. Disco Elysium? The console port is riddled with bugs. The fan in the first room of the game kills me = screen lock. The first conversation with a woman in the hallway outside of that room repeats when I investigate the cigarette she left behind = screen lock. Ugh! Skip.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
It's been a long time since I dropped games, so it might have been either:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (the plot didn't hook me)
New Pokémon Snap (too boring and tedious)
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (too bland and lack of activities on single player mode)
Sold the first two, probably won't pick up ACNH for a long time, if ever.
It's a shame too when I drop games because it meant I've wasted my time on something I didn't enjoy, but it beats pushing through to complete it and then whine about how I hated it on the forum.

Since I haven't played most of the Mega Man games before, I've basically been on a "Mega Man marathon" this past month or so, and I haven't given up on a single game. I beat all of the classic games, I beat everything in the Zero/ZX Collection, I made it through the first six X games, I even made it through Mega Man & Bass and Mega Man X6 (and low-key enjoyed the latter)...
...but then I played X7, and I couldn't make it past 30 minutes. It's so slow and clunky and unfun, there was no way I'd put myself through playing the rest of it.

Yo, I played ACNH with DLC Happy Home Paradise and I have accumulated more than 860 hours since I bought the game two years ago.
I like ACNH since the villagers will never moving out by themself and I like to play life sim games like The Sims.
@Anti-Matter Happy Home Paradise was fun for what it provided, and I might give it another shot someday, but the base game's routine activities like fishing and bug catching bored me eventually. I liked them for quite a while in the beginning, and I get that it's meant to be relaxing, but I'm someone who hates repetitiveness in my entertainment (unless there's something rewarding in the end like what grinding in RPGs offer you).
I heard New Leaf is better though since it has more things for you to do than just those mundane tasks; you get to build a whole city and stuff. That's pretty neat.

Actually, before I get into ACNL 3DS, I was skeptical I could enjoy the game considering I didn't like City Folk for lack of interesting things to do. As I played ACNL from week to week, I start to enjoy the game and the more I found some secrets like keeping my villagers forever while I'm getting hiatus from the game, it made me really excited to take control of ACNL.
Currently I take some hiatus from ACNH too after I have my beautiful island, all the chosen villagers stay forever on my island so I can get hiatus from the game when I have other games or new games to play. Sometimes I still log in ACNH just for maintenance, say hello to my villagers, doing some random funny things then save & quit from the game after around 30 minutes - 1 hour to play ACNH.
I've pretty much dropped Mario + Rabbids. I thought I would enjoy it - I bought it when it first released, and my son and I both played it quite a bit. But the gameplay just doesn't hook me. I've gotten to the second chapter twice (once on the first playthrough, and again when I restarted the game last spring), but something else comes along that I end up enjoying more. There's something about the strategery building in Mario + Rabbids that doesn't resonate with me. I have a hard time speaking the game's language in terms of creating successful strategies, and trying to formulate them isn't all that fun to me. I'm glad that other people have enjoyed this game, and I can see the appeal. It's just not for me. I recently stopped playing it in favor of Xenoblade 2, and that has been a great choice so far.
Recently finished: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Splatoon 3: Side Order, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Currently playing: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
What's next: ?

I used to have more fun doing that, designing my island and showing off my villagers when I still had a community to do that with. But after I had a falling out with the AC community in their forum, I pretty much had no one to share my designs with or talk to about my villagers. The multiplayer aspect as gone, and so the game just felt more lonely playing by myself after that, talking to virtual villagers who aren't real people.
I don't know. If Nintendo ever release a new AC update, I might get back into AC here and connect with the AC crowd in NintendoLife forum. But until then, I don't see myself picking my NH up any time soon.

Finally decided to drop Azure Striker Gunvolt last night. Played about 4 or 5 of the stages and it's doing nothing for me - can't quite put my finger on why though, there's nothing that stands out as particularly bad but it's just...meh.
Also haven't touched Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS for months - was only a few hours in, but haven't had the urge to go back and play more. I think this one might go back onto the pile of shame to re-start later as it's been so long since I played I've no clue what was happening in the story.
last year i started playing Monster Hunter Stories 1 for my 3DS. im at some castle kingdom eara last time i saved at.
had to take a break from it since i didnt quit understand the game that much anyway but i wouldnt mind trying to get back into it a little bit more but id rather be playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite or get back into Monster Hunter World or Rise

I loved Tem-Tem but I dropped it because the final boss was ridiculous and I couldn't win.
That and it was too MMO for my taste, I never had any money and grinding it would be an absolute timesink.
Speaking of timesinks, do I really want to spend hours on end breeding one perfect Tem (and then prolly get stomped online) when I could be clearing literally anything else on my bloated backlog.
I didn't put too much time into this game, but I recently dropped Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. I really wanted to love this game as I loved the art style and the idea of a modern-yet-retro Metroidvania-ish game sounded perfect to me. I just couldn't get passed how cheap everything seemed in the game. Enemies hit harder than I felt they should and there were so many incredibly cheap platforming sections. The platforming just felt a bit imprecise and more often than not there would be surprise enemies that would just drop out at you and make you start the section over. It certainly felt retro, which I'm sure the devs were going for, but it was a bit too retro for my liking.
Batman: Arkham Asylum. After hearing so many positive things about it, and then consequently buying both Asylum and City from my friend who was getting rid of a bunch of Xbox 360 games, I was really bummed out that I didn't like it. Apart from the solid voice work, I found it's scatterbrained story, frustratingly imprecise combat and stealth, and lackluster environments to be thoroughly, well, unenjoyable.
@NeonPizza Not TC, but other people have been bringing up non-Switch titles, so I doubt it's an issue. Most of us game on more than one platform, after all.
Returnal will be going to PC soon and support gyro on there. Just sayin'.
And yeah, I'm also firmly in the "Crash Bandicoot has always been mediocre" camp. Spyro the Dragon was always the better Playstation-associated mascot, IMO.
I'm almost ready to drop Xenoblade Chronicles 2 unfortunately. I'm stuck at the Jin fight in chapter 9 and need to either grind for hours or seriousy brush up my combat skills, which will probably also take hours. I loved the game for the most part but I'm kind of done with it. I have Xenoblade Chronicles 3 lined up
Five Nights at Freddy's - It isn't scary and I've had more fun playing walking simulators.
Touhou Genso Wanderer - I enjoy roguelikes, but I don't like this game's setting.
Princess Guide - A simple action game shouldn't have this many mechanics.
Yurukill - Boring puzzle sections coupled with boring shmup sections. Just...boring.
Mario Tennis Aces - Item degradation is the worst mechanic in video games.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
