@JaxonH The big thing P5S was missing were the social elements. None of the daily life/social links you'd find in the main game. If those are present to some extent in this title, it'll make this a far better experience.

TBH Three Houses was a phenomenal RPG in terms of the story, cast, character customization, etc., but the tactical aspects were lacking. I felt that even at the time, but Triangle Strategy really put into perspective how much tight map design and a cohesive set of mechanics could elevate a good game into a great one.

Three Houses with action combat sounds like it has the potential to be even better than the main game was.

@Ryu_Niiyama That's the biggest advice I'd give people who want to check out Three Hopes, finish Three Houses first. While it's a different story set in the same universe there's still big spoilers.

So far I'm loving the demo. It's incredibly long, the ost is sublime (the remix of Edge of Dawn is godlike) and the combat feels fun while maintaining an overall good frame rate (especially when compared to Age of Calamity), I also really like Shez and how talkative she/he is. There are full social links with the typical ranking C B A, the side activities from the main game like teatime, lunchtime and group activities are all back, there's also an upgradable basecamp. The story overall looks good from what I've played but it's far too early to form a complete opinion on that. The thing I like the most is that you can pretty much switch any character's class so you can experiment every possible combination you can think of. I really enjoyed the first Fire Emblem Warriors and this feels like a monumental upgrade when compared to that especially because aside from the action combat it looks and feels like an actual Fire Emblem game. I obviously recommend playing Three Houses before this. Anyway really glad I preordered the limited edition, absolutely worth it!

Tried the demo last night, definitely blows the first Fire Emblem Warriors out of the water. I was also really surprised to see the main character is voice acted, considering you can pick between male and female and have different dialogue options, so that's a nice touch. Looking forward to launch day!

So here's a question. As much as I love Fire Emblem, I didn't get round to finishing even one path of three houses... (Yes I'm a failure I know :/ ) so some big story beats I've missed.

Could someone let me know if the demo spoils any of them?

Grumblevolcano

@Rosona It does have big spoilers so I'd recommend trying to finish off your current Three Houses playthrough first.

I feel like this game, just based on the demo alone, has been nothing short of a revelation. I was a big fan of FEW1, but this is a next level upgrade across the board. What a wonderful continuation of the Three Houses cast of characters!

@Grumblevolcano Yeah 3Houses has a rich lore spread over all the routes. I just have not had the time (or mindset) to get them done. My hope is the existence of 3Hopes will push me because I adore the 3houses universe.

The demo won't spoil anything unless you haven't played anything of Three Houses at all. But it sounds like you have.

This GameXplain impressions video is the best take I've seen on this demo yet.

Still working my way through the demo but loving it so far, as I knew I would. I've loved every Nintendo crossover mousou game.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

@korosanbo
They're not that difficult once you wrap your head around what to do.

Granted, playing Three Houses first makes it a LOT easier, as many of the games mechanics transition to Three Hopes, like weapon triangle, combat abilities, skills and magic, classes, ordering units, etc.

It's a lot easier when you only have to worry about the different aspects, which is basically, "do whatever mission says", which is usually, "take these strongholds" or "beat this boss" or "defend this person".

But ya, there are a lot of tutorials. I've found that to be the case for any game with depth worth its salt though. Otherwise it would be too shallow to hold my interest (except for real time skill based games, they can be simpler since the challenge of skill based gameplay is enough to command attention).

The Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes limited edition was never announced for North America.

But you can get one from Amazon IT (Italy) right now, and it ships globally! It's sold out on every other European Amazon site, including UK, so this is a rare opportunity.

I grabbed two and it only came out to $200 shipped! Or you can get 1 for $106 shipped, which is what it would cost in the US anyways after tax. And that's even despite shipping overseas.

The only other place it's in stock I'm aware of is EB Games in Australia where it's exclusive, but they don't ship out of country. You'd have to use a shipment forwarding service. Unless you live there, obviously.

My goodness, I actually had to pause the game and just ponder upon how much I'm enjoying Three Hopes. This game is like crack.

It even has dropped items you can find at camp, renown points... I'm beginning to think there isn't a single Three Houses mechanic MIA. It's all here. This game actually could have been Three Houses, if Fire Emblem wasn't turn based. It doesn't feel like I'm playing a Warriors game. It feels like I'm playing a Fire Emblem Three Houses game, that just happens to have Warriors combat.

Of all the Warriors games I've played, none have been even half as good as Three Hopes. When I say this game is good, I mean really good. Like, "one of the best games I've played all year" good. I just can't get over how insanely fun and addicting this game is. I don't think I can play another Warriors title after this... no. I don't think I can. Three Hopes makes other Warriors games, including Hyrule Warriors, feel boring by comparison.

@korosanbo
I never really got into Hyrule Warriors. Or any other Warriors game for that matter. Except Persona 5 Strikers, but that's not really a Warriors game. I liked the previous FE Warriors most, but even it lost my interest.

This game has sucked me into the vortex though. It's so similar to Three Houses I'm actually impressed.

If you struggle with mechanical depth though, Fire Emblem probably isn't for you. It's not nearly as confusing as I imagine this game is, as this game expects you to have played Three Houses, but regardless the game has plenty of depth.

Played the demo for a few missions, but so far this seems less interesting than Age of Calamity. The combat is very button-mashy and requires no real skill like dodging and timing. The Hyrule Warriors demo seemed much more challenging in that regards. but maybe it will become better later on.
