I'm genuinely shocked that I did not actively have to look to find someone who was genuinely knowledgeable about both versions of Hyrule Warriors.

like srsly, I think like 10 people bought that game, and half of them realized way too late that it sucks on regular 3DS

Also, famitsu info has confirmed that characters are locked to a single weapon type.

So, magic focused Robin? That's fine, he was a beast in Awakening!

If he's using Brynhildr, I think that we may say goodbye to Leo appearing.
And if Leo doesn't appear, I don't think they'll put Takumin in either.

@Luna_110 Leo's the most popular male in Fates, on top of being a very unique character with lots of potential.
He's in-- Robin's likely just holding onto it for a couple cutscenes.

@Tsurii DLC. Or a significantly larger pool of characters to draw from lessens the need to give each multiple weapons.

On the other hand, if Lissa is any indication, they might prefer incorporating multiple weapons into a single fighting style as opposed to Hyrule Warriors. Because let's be real, it's hard to make three different varieties of swords or axes truly unique compared to a spinning top, bells, a picture frame, a balloon...

@meleebrawler Focusing on elemental powers and things other than the weapon has gotten Koei very far-- every (84) character has their own unique weapon in DW8. In some ways I feel like they're being hogtied by sticking too close to the characters' original appearances.

@Tsurii That's the preview-- the scans come out tomorrow. Nobody's even tried to read it.
The preview also mentions that it will delve into effective damage, the weapon triangle, and classic/casual modes.

I can read クロム as Ku-ro-mu (Chrom) and マルス as Ma-ru-su (Marth)... it's interesting being able to start understand some Japanese here and there.

I haven't jumped on the hype train yet cause, still no release date or many details. Got MHXX and Mario Kingdom Battle, Pokken Tournament and Mario Odyssey, and tons of 3rd party games still standing between us and FE Warriors. My bet is November, with Xenoblade 2 in December like the last entry.

W00t Female Robin and Female Kamui will be laying waste to some fools ...I really, really can't wait for this game to come out (here is hoping for a Hyrule Warriors 2 ).

@DarthNocturnal The most recent interview did mention that "Nintendo made some specific requests" alongside the whole "IS told us to focus on the popularity polls".
I feel comfortable saying here that maaaybe those Nintendo specific requests were Ike/Roy and they'll be outside of story mode.
I'm not getting my hopes up, but with the info we have it's feasible.

Western (or at least Europe) release date is October 20th.
Still no word on any special editions.

I'm usually not bothered by voices, lip sync, facial animation, or any of that; but the latest trailer made this game look bad. Lilac-haired lady especially was just thrown in there after so many generic, self-serious line reads to say, "Heeeeeeey, I'm the flirty lady."

Not terribly compelling.

@Tsurii We already have Lissa. Honestly, I prefer Sakura and Elise to her.

Definitely a bit surprised by Hinoka's inclusion and the younger sisters' exclusion. I'd say Oboro, Azura, and Niles are the remaining Fates reps (maybe Keaton and Kaden, for the sake of unique movesets). Thank goodness we're at least done with Awakening for now.
