Enjoying this so far. Just played a random match and was encouraged to see that (although you have to go about tweaking things in a different way to other versions) it is possible to kill a game with blanket defence and counter attack. Very important, that.
I've not really got the hang of crosses though. It's tricky to play through the middle of teams-as it should be-but going wide isn't working well for me as my Crossing is all over the shop.

It's a great game Spoony, it really is. I'm definitely impressed. And not only impressed, it's become my new addiction!
I played at work as soon as I got there and then I played another game at work right before I left. This game is killer to have on the go. There is a bug, and one of my players had this green and blue checkered face lol- not sure what caused it but it didn't seem to affect gameplay at all, and it was only one player out of 22 on the field. I'm sure they will patch it out.
But ya the game is legit. 1080p, graphics look respectable (much better than I was anticipating), framerate is silk... and the game is easy to pick up and play like an arcadey soccer title, while at the same time offering incredible depth that's hard to master. I couldn't be happier.

A port missing modes,having bugs and being sold for 60 is a combination of disaster. What did EA expect?
My friend got it on PS4 this weekend and we wanted to have some local multiplayer fun. Well. The game is over 45 GB and it took 2 hours to download. So we waited and played the demo instead. After the download was complete, it needed to install. And I kid you not, it took 4 ****ing hours to install!! We went out to a restaurant in the meantime. So that's the great evening we had with FIFA on PS4 and if my girl hadn't been out of town, I would never even have that much time or patience. How can anybody even accept this? It's a console and not a PC! What's next? Maintain GPU drivers? Defragment the hard drive? Clean up the registry? Install a firewall??
No matter how good RDR2 will be, I completely lost interest in PS4. Home console gaming has become a chore for casual gamers who just want to pick up and play in short bursts.
I hardly used my PS3 for exactly that reason. "Remember that game I bought for 70 bucks? My girl is going to Yoga, that's perfect to play for 30min, so let's get comfortable on the couch. You betcha! System update required, 10min later reboot. After that the game needs to update and install another 2 GB." I bought GTA5 when it was brand new on PS3. I played it twice. Too annoying for me. I swear, every time I boot up the PS3 it needs to install.
I don't have the commitment to plan in advance when and what I want to play. That goes against the definition of playing. So FIFA on PS4 or Xbox is a lost cause for me. I rather get it on Switch and skip booting and loading times thanks to the standby feature.

Really enjoying this game......I'm usually rubbish at footie games so try and avoid. But on beginner level, I'm ruling the field (lol). Playing as AFCBournemouth is great fun, as that's my home town (only in FIFA 18 would you see Bournemouth beat Liverpool 6-0!!). One thing I have noticed though is the game is really dark (both in docked and handheld mode). Anyone else notice this? There doesn't seem to be a brightness control in any of the settings...
It was a new PS4 Slim 500GB We first wanted to play NBA 2k18 from the disc - and that installation took also 2 hours. So then we decided to download FIFA from PSN. 2 hours download + 4 hours installation = a whole day waiting to play a game on a freaking console!! What a time to be alive!!!
BTW, I bought FIFA on the Switch earlier today. Plays great. I don't care if you can see dental plaque on PC or play as some Hunter in single-player. This is a local multiplayer game and it performs superbly. Graphics are good, ball physics are great, atmosphere is superb, controls are precise.
@Switchcraft i call BS. Either you have a faulty unit or that your exaggerating your story. I have never encountered an install that lasted more than 20 mins

It does have a menu option for instant replays, rewind, fast forward, change views, etc, but I didn't see any option to save. Once Nintendo patched in video capture they promised you'll be able to save angling you like, just roll the instant replay and record

@kobashi100 I like to see those kind of comparisons more then PS4 ones. It really tells us this is indeed a step up from last gen consoles. No doubt the Switch version is leagues better looking and appears to play better as well.
