Topic: FIFA 18 Switch

@Peek-a-boo Sounds decent enough ..does the Switch version of FUT include the option to play AI versions of others peoples' squads etc? ..and do you need to be connected to the internet to play that game mode? <- EDIT: nm, I just read through the NL review and it seems it doesn't offer the full FUT experience...on balance though, it still seems worth getting - although I may hold off for a month or so just to see if anything else takes my fancy before I commit to parting with £54.99 of my hard earned cash! **eye watering!**

Amazon don't have it in stock, only through 3rd party sellers which won't be delivered until 5th October at the earliest. Asda are out of stock. There is no Tesco in my town. Meaning my only choice is to buy it from Argos for £51.99. Amazon had it for £43.99 just a few days ago too. Annoyed!

I'm curious what the online is like. No friends match ups is ridiculous but does it play smoothly otherwise?

My verdic is EA have done a great job for a first attempt. I’m used to the PC version, so obviously the graphics are not as good, but it still looks great. The way the game plays is good as well, I think I actually prefer the way it plays compared to FIFA 17 on PC. The new crossing system is the same as it’s big brothers, so at least it has something in common with the others. I’m really happy with my decision to stick with the Switch version even though I wasn’t sure.

I have played a couple of games, thus far. I think it's a very good game. I cancelled my Amazon order as it wasn't going to arrive until tomorrow and I bought it from the E-Shop instead, and took the hit monetarily. Not using Amazon again for Switch games.

@Hughesy Good to hear about the crossing system. Funnily enough I don't recall reading anything about it in the NL review... possibly because it was focused on making sure we knew how many features were missing.

@JasmineDragon Good to know, thanks. I've pre-ordered a few Switch games so far and a ton of 3ds games and this is the first time anything like this happened. I wasn't sure what was going on.

@gcunit Or they just haven’t played the other versions so know no different. For a first attempt I think it’s great, hopefully if it sells well they will put more effort into having the same features as the other versions. Yea I could have got the PC version, but if someone like me who is used to the PC version can be happy, then I think most people will be. The stuff that is missing isn’t a massive deal to me, how the game plays is the most important thing. On Monday we are already planning to have a Fifa tournament at work during lunch, something I wouldn’t be able to do if I bought the PC version😊

There are some bugs though, like training players, one time it wasn’t even showing the right part of the pitch so I couldn’t do it. Another time I chose to do through ball training and it’s doing a differing drill.

Feel bit sorry for the EA Bucharest team to be honest. None of us know what kind of budget and timescale they were actually given.

My copy just arrived. Just updated the game and clicked the icon. On the start menu now.

Haven't played a soccer game (or any sports game for that matter) since I was a teenager. But I used to love soccer so I'm giving this a whirl. I really don't have a good frame of reference to compare it to so I'll give my thoughts on the game based on its own merits. Will be back later

One thing I have just noticed that I'm disappointed with is that the new main stand at Anfield isn't in the game. I understood it last year as the stand was only just built but that was 12 months ago.
I appreciate most people probably won't care about this and it doesn't take anything away from the game play as such but as a Liverpool fan I find it disappointing.
Out of interest does anyone know if the ps4 /xbone versions have the new main stand in?

Least anfield is in the game. Celtic park one of the most atmospheric stadiums in Europe can never get a look in.

Hi, sorry, I didn't know where else to ask this, but does anyone know what the f*** this is and how to fix it? I own the physical game and have tried deleting the game file, re-downloading the patch, deleting my save file, all to no avail.

The game played fine yesterday, but today over half the players have blank faces replaced with green and blue checks. What the hell?

Having this exact issue. Hopefully they will patch it soon. Not really good enough though.

Thank you for confirming you're having the same issue. I've looked on Twitter and reached out to EA there, but I haven't seen anyone else reporting they're having the issue yet. I also looked on the EA forums and didn't see anything there.

I hope it's something that can be patched. I just don't understand why it happened, as the game seemed fine yesterday and I literally just deleted my save data and the game data numerous times in desperation, hoping it would fix it and it hasn't (so I've lost a few hour's progress. Oh well, could be worse. I hadn't really touched many of the modes yet).

Hopefully it's not a weird isolated incident and it gets patched soon. I know it's just an aesthetic issue, but I really can't bring myself to play FIFA whilst half the players look like aliens. I agree, it's not really good enough at all.

@Reprise Have you tried turning your Switch off (as opposed to sleeping - i.e holding the power button and selecting power off)

I sent them an image via their 'EA help' twitter page but no response yet.

I was playing as Brighton V Arsenal and it only seemed to be the Brighton players affected, which annoyed me considerably. I'm the same as you, I find it hard to play while this error persists.

Hi, yes I have. I've tried the following:

• Turning the console properly off, leaving 5 minutes and turning back on
• Deleting game data, re-inserting cartridge and re-downloading patch
• Deleting save data
• Resetting the game to default settings

Yeah, it only seems to be affecting the two teams I've recently used too - i.e. Newcastle and Huddersfield. I just tried some other teams and it hasn't affected them.
