Doesn’t look like mine is arriving today, it’s at a regional sorting office, but would be out for delivery by now if it was going to arrive today. I didn’t think it would come early, EA told stores to not send out the games early. It’s a shame as I wanted to play it today, as Forza 7 is out on PC tomorrow which will probably what I’ll be playing mostly.
I was really looking forward to the Switch version. I can handle not having the Frostbite engine and the Journey, but the kicker is we don't get FUT Champions or the new Squad Battle Challenges. Seems they could have easily added those in as they are part of Ultimate team anyway. Apparently the Companion App isn't supported for Switch either...
I heard it was in the game, we’ll find out soon enough. I’m not really too fussed if it isn’t, it’s just extra fluff. I don’t often buy players anyway, I like to develop youth players.
Just chiming in to say that I have played this for forty-odd minutes on my friends Switch (in portable mode) this afternoon and, as a Pro Evolution Soccer fan and a casual FIFA player, I can attest to FIFA 18 being a remarkably good game of football on the go!
When you zoom the view to the on pitch camera, the visuals do look noticeably worse than when I played the FIFA 18 demo on my PlayStation 4 however, if you keep it to the default television/wide view, then it is a surprisingly good game of football to look at and play.
Gameplay wise, it isn’t as good as PES 2018, but it’s still an enjoyable enough game to kick around in on.
Besides from the lack of modes to choose from, I don’t think there is anything to be too concerned about.
@Peek-a-boo Cheers for that. Your hands on verdict is the first I've seen online. All I've been able to find is game play footage and graphics comparisons, no actual opinions on how it plays.
This video has a side by side comparison with the Xbox One version.It holds up very well I think.
Anyone pre-order this from Amazon US? I did the first day it was available but for some reason it's saying it won't be here until Tuesday. I have pre-ordered a bunch of games in the past and this is the first time it won't get delivered on release day.
Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any idea why this would happen?
@JHDK I didn't order this but can testify that Amazon have had issues with launch day delivery on Switch games before. They messed up with Mario Kart and Disgaea 5 when I preordered them. Disgaea didn't get to me until the following Tuesday, and I cancelled my MK order when the same thing was going to happen. Bought it at Target instead. As much as I love Amazon Prime, I won't preorder any more Switch games on it unless I really don't care about launch day delivery - and who are we kidding, I ALWAYS care! When you're hyped about a new game, you want it on launch day!

This is one that I am going to be picking up on Payday. Looks really good. I did get it on Xbox, but would love to have this portable so I can chill out and play on breaks or when I have to go away on Business.
@NaviAndMii I can attest to it being a pretty decent version of FIFA.
The Switch version plays more or less the same as the demo of FIFA 18 on my PlayStation 4. Visually, it does the job, just as long as you don’t get too close up to the pitch. I would say that approximately two-thirds of casual FIFA players leave the match view as it is (‘television’) so, it won’t be much of a problem in all honesty.
p.s. Apparently, you cannot play an online match with or against your friends though...
