Famitsu's score is in, take it for what you will.

But...straight 9s, son!

Anticipation...rising. Can't wait to have that copy in my hands. Not soon enough.

Now that a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is officially confirmed, I preordered the Deluxe version on Switch. That way I’ll have all the Contant and I can just pay that little upgrade fee and have this gem on my Switch 2!

@JaxonH hopefully it isn't a completely purchase!

I'm a bit skeptical about the Famitsu scores given that Famitsu as a whole has an issue with rating games really high score-wise. I'm getting the game day 1, but I'll keep my eyes out on actual reviews.

Yes, alliteration is fun.

Holy hell she's annoying!

Does it run well?
Does it look good?
Does it seem like it was made with ai?
Is it still funny?

@Spider-Kev The Steam Page doesn't mention anything about Ai. Have yet to play the game, but I feel like this is one of the last few projects Level 5 is developing that doesn't actually utilize it outside of maybe coding.

Went ahead and sprung for the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam.

It runs almost perfectly on Steam Deck... IF you don't touch the settings menu. If you do, it drops the native resolution to a squashed 720p with borders that only reverts if you uninstall and reinstall the game. It's basically configured perfectly out of the box for the Deck, though, and has been holding 60 so far. I'm sure this'll be patched over time, but yeah, just leave well enough alone.

Also, the first time it launches it basically goes to a black screen, but every other time after it works perfectly.

Very, very cute game. The use of HDR looks really nice, so this is definitely one you'll wanna play on a compatible display, Steam Deck OLED, or Switch 2.

Ugh. Men.

Seems as though the consensus on the multiplayer portion is that it isn't good. Kind of bums me out. But at the same time I'm glad I didn't double dip for a Playstation copy to play with online friends.

I didn't play multiplayer on the original.
I don't really play multiplayer unless it is couch Co-Op

I don't really mind the bad multiplayer. It isn't the greatest, but I don't really intend on playing the game with friends either. Most of my fun is coming from playing the singleplayer.

God, this game is so pretty. I can see why some have drawn comparisons to Zelda, with the sort of high-def toy-like look that characters had in Link's Awakening/Echoes of Wisdom, and apparently there are shrines with puzzles and combat trials...? They even have a similar aesthetic on the outside.

They've obviously taken a bit from Animal Crossing with the island/terraforming stuff as well.

All the same, this is unmistakably Fantasy Life.

Even with the subpar multiplayer, this is quickly becoming my early GOTY pick.

Ugh. Men.

Anti-Matter

@Ralizah
Have you reached the Island Terraforming part?
Does it faster and more efficient on Fantasy Life than ACNH?
I remembered you can use your Robot to help in Terraforming the island.
Are the furnitures just decoration only or have a few functional?

I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.

Ralizah

@Anti-Matter I haven't had the opportunity to explore that mechanic yet, but I'll update you when I do!

It's going to be an arduous wait for my import Japanese copy to arrive.

The hype is real.

VGP are expecting their inventory to arrive on the 26th.

Probably a week from their warehouse to my doorstep.

First week of June for me then.

Just started playing the game and I'm blown away. They really outdid themselves with this one and I think what makes it so impressive for me is that my expectations were rather low given what I'd heard leading up to release.

And when you have low expectations and then play a game that turns out to actually be absolutely amazing, it's the best feeling in the world

They just announced a free DLC called "Update the World!" It will include new recipes and more. Basically harder content that allows for the end-game high rarity items to be actually utilized. No release window has been announced, but it's neat that they're going to add more content to the game so soon.

Ralizah

@Anti-Matter To answer your question, terraforming is MUCH MUCH faster and more efficient in this game. It's actually a pretty neat mechanic. I'm seeing a lot of Animal Crossing fans say they wish it had been like this in that game as well lol.

Ugh. Men.
