@DTMOF84 Except one mode it's missing. The snapmap mode. Which included in all the other versions,at launch. Is that too hard to understand? Also the DLC was for Multiplayer. Who bought Doom for the multiplayer? Also what were the things people liked about Doom? Oh yeah the snapmap editor and the single player.
@Ralizah thats the point I've been trying to make. The game is out on a new system that they had to work at porting over to the Switch. Its not like there isn't any time and money spent on that.
I've never played the game yet, but I can guarantee that the people that use the Snap Map is far less than those that actually played just the multiplayer. Not everyone wants to edit maps and all that comes with it.
1) You can disagree all you want, but that's the way the industry works. Price drops on another platform are irrelevant to the pricing of the Switch version. Should most indie games launch under $5 on Switch or PS4 just because their price drops on Steam?
Time, money, and effort was putting into making DOOM run well on the Switch. The developers are entitled to charge full price for it, just like they did on PS4, Xbone, and PC. Don't like it? Buy it on another platform or wait for a price drop.
2) DOOM 3 was good, but it's really more of a horror game than a DOOM experience. It's not what most people want with regard to DOOM.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Memomemo I'll be happy if it just sells like flapjacks! π
Seriously though I hope it does well enough. What does everyone think it needs to sell to be considered a success? I'm going with 750k by years end. A million just seems like a stretch for me. That would be a 10% attach rate and are there enough that will pay full price for it.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@Lethal Nintendo isn't the one selling the game buddy. That's a company called Bethesda. They are this thing called the publisher of the game.
And regarding point 2, the fact it is subjective is true yes, but its not really something you can say is just assumption, regarding people didn't want DOOM 3 to be the future of DOOM, considering this game completely reversed that direction back to what it is.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations

@Lethal I dont think Nintendo is saying it has to be $60 mate.
Im pretty sure they pay the license fee and production costs and dev kits, submit the game, and work out a budget based on time to port, staff required and other development cists involved, and factor that into how many units they need to sell at any given price.
Nintendo doesnt decide that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Special Edition of Skyrim on XB1 and PS4 retail for $60? I heard about that on Reddit but I don't know for certain.

Yes it did. New released ports on other consoles always retail at full RRP. It's been this way for like ever.
