So I don't know who listened to that whole developer interview with Playtonic. It's actually really funny, but they did say a number of interesting things, including the fact that the kickstarter ending on the first day of E3 was not an accident.
If the kickstarter ends at E3 because they have a publisher lined up who's attending I'd be so annoyed.
There's far too much about that that makes no sense for that to even happen. For one, if they had a publisher, why would it be a Kickstarter? The main function of a Kickstarter is to get the money that a publisher would normally be supplying. Second, that would require them to sacrifice parts of their vision, since another thing a publisher does is ensure that the final product is the most marketable thing they could've come up with. (At least, that's the point.) They don't have a publisher. That would kinda defeat the purpose of the whole project.
Hence me being annoyed.
Oh, I agree. I'd be fairly pissed if I donated 30 pounds for nothing, but I just think that's a very strange conclusion to jump to, since that would make absolutely no sense to do.
About the publisher. It really depends on how you're looking at it..They've said that they're looking for a publisher from the beginning, probably to handle a physical release. Without the KickStarter no publisher might've been interested enough to publish their game. If they paid for those things themselves (marketing etc.), I'd imagine that it's a lot easier to find a publisher.

Hence the if rather than is but E3 is a showcase for games, it's a game and they want publicly funded end before the games showcase and it's not as if plently of Kickstater games have had publishers or morals of the people behing Kickstaerters are questionable.
I personally assume that anything and everything that EA touches dies a horrible death.
"Let's buy PopCap then lay off the creator of their most popular franchise!"
...At least Garden Warfare was ok....I enjoyed it. lol
But yeah...I want a true PvZ sequel...that stupid f2p iOS game doesn't count.
Garden Warfare strikes me as a modern day Nuts and Bolts.
Never played Nuts and Bolts, but I like to compare Garden Warfare with Team Fortress 2, since they have some similarities.
90% chance I probably just misunderstood you, lol

PvZ2 isn't let down by being f2p. It's let down by lazier and weaker game design. I think this is mostly due to the departure of George Fan.
Ancient Egypt feels like a level from PvZ1. You know why? It was early in development when Fan was still on the team (and Laura Shigihara did the music for that level). The later levels really fail to rock the boat much and fail to present a good learning curve for new zombies and plants.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
I always love this guy's 8-bit remixes, but I think he outdid himself with his Jungle Challenge remix.
So that's what David Wise sounds like in an 8-bit style. I mean, it's not actually 8-bit, as the piece requires too many tracks, but it uses the style. That's pretty awesome.
