My God. What a fantastic place. Words can't even begin to describe how blown away I am exploring it and looking at my donations. The fish/aquatics section is especially drop-dead gorgeous. I haven't even gone through the Fossils area yet, but I imagine it wouldn't fail to leave a huge impression on me.
Oh, and the subtle music that plays. Ugh. So. Good. I. Can't. See, Breath of the Wild? That's how you do subtle, ambient music that makes an impact rather than take you out of the zone when playing a game.
The museum was only a "oh, neat" place for me in the previous games, but in New Horizons that will change. I'll now be putting double effort in catching insects and fish and donating them promptly. Oh, and I never really cared for fossil assessment in previous games, but that might very well also change too.
Spectacular. Just a 10/10. Bravo, Nintendo. Bravo.
Bought it on day one, and as i live in Italy this is really helping me staying home. It's my first animal crossing and i am really enjoying it. Wonderful game! Now a question: in the nook catalog (the one accessible via the machine at the entrance) i can see all the items that i crafted or found and even the items that i see in other houses; now the question is: i understand that the items that i can craft are impossible to buy from the catalog, but why can't i buy the items that were gifted to me? Will they also be craftable? I am trying to get as many items as possible, but the house inventory is almost full, and i have fear that i will sell something impossible to rebuy from the catalog, loosing it forever. What are the items that cannot be bought via the catalog? Is the catalog limited or will it have thousands of items in a year of playing? Thanks guys, stay safe!
PS sorry for any mistake
I lost myself in the game over the weekend. Got my copy on Friday, and by Sunday night I paid my 198k loan from Tom Nook, began construction for the museum, began construction for the store, and proceeded to grind out 400k in order to pay off the following day's home remodeling loan. The game looks great, sounds great, and plays well. It was worth the wait.

Just visited my museum and couldn’t agree more! Apparently I reacted audibly and I then had visitors in my room to see what I was doing. I’m amazed. Truly.

Not sure where else to post this, but I'm looking to gather some Cherries and Pears... I've got Apples, Oranges, Coconuts, and Bamboo trees. If anyone is interested, feel free to reply to figure out a Dodo Code and add my friend code at 5623-3194-9903. Thank ye kindly in advance!
I got my museum today, too! It's superb! Also, I learnt that I could get more iron nuggets by hitting a rock WITHOUT eating fruit. So finally got the 30 nuggets to start building the store! )))
Mornings are my favourite time now, when I get my Switch, turn it on, and see all those gifts in my mail, the trees with fruit and branches, the island changing slowly... This morning it was raining on my island, and it was great.
Did I mention that I love this game? My first Animal Crossing and I'm in love!
@brendathecat Hey, I just added you. I would be really happy for some cherries if you don't mind sharing. My native fruits are oranges but I'm growing everything else right now. The only two I'm missing are cherries and persimmons
Has anyone here tried to do some of the...pixel art...images...or whatever, yet? lol
Gonna attempt (or at least start on it, lol) at one today, wanna make an anime girl pic of one of my favorite characters...Was wondering, how many tiles do you get total? Also, are floor tiles the best way to do this? Can you do walls too or are you limited there?

Yes, eating fruit powers you up so that you break the rocks instead and only get one crafting item, but breaking them is handy if one happens to be somewhere inconvenient, such as sitting where you wanted to put a path, and, as far as I know, broken rocks will respawn in a random location the next day so that you always have the same number on the island. In previous Animal Crossing games, you were stuck with them, so it's a nice change.
@Joeynator3000 I tried it yesterday, and imported two creations to the game. However, I haven't used them. I'm not sure how to apply them yet. I only know how to use them on T-shirts or make up. Good to know they can be used on walls, too!
@Ganso It’s my third AC game, four if you count Pocket Camp, and I’m absolutely amazed every time I turn on the Switch in the morning. I played New Leaf for YEARS and had loads of fun and I’m so excited to see what’s to come!!

Just wondering, is anyone sending me Switch friend requests? I've gotten an small influx of requests lately, and while I did share my FC in a somewhat public forum, that forum didn't have a whole lot of gamers. So I'm just wondering if anyone from here has sent me any friend requests.
Speaking of which, you can send me friend requests (code in signature) if you want, but just make sure you let me know it's from a fellow NLife user. Thanks!
