Topic: Animal Crossing: New Horizons

@Anti-Matter I mean, what is the purpose of collecting anything in Animal Crossing? It's just another thing you can do. Some people find them cute. Sometimes they are nice to save to trade for other rare items, etc...

I've travelled b nook miles about 4 times now. Each time the island's fruit was peaches, the same as my own? Is anyone else having this happen? Other than coconuts I'm getting really sick of peaches!

I'm looking for bananas or lychees. Does anybody have some?

Wow. I’ve traveled 3 times to 3 islands... First one had pears (my native fruit) and coconuts, the second one had peaches and coconuts and the third had bamboo and of course coconuts. Did you travel to the same island each time?

Ive traveled 4 times in 3 days as well. 3 of 4 were apples, my native fruit. The other was Cherries. Luckily, My mail was oranges and my daughter who also native fruit was apples received peaches. So all I am waiting on is pears. Didn't even know bamboo was a option!

Nice. My mail was cherries! Think I only need apples and oranges now... I didn’t know about the bamboo until this morning, either! Can only plant the tree you dig up after eating a fruit or the bamboo shoots that are buried beside the trees... Apparently you get bamboo resources from chopping those!

@leerafuse You got it faster than I did. Took me almost twice that to get a different fruit. But when I finally did, every tree on the island was a fruit tree, I planted an orchard and still make a tasty 20k bells.

I can't answer that, but I do know the game automatically saves frequently and after every major change to the island (such as picking a location for a project), so quitting without saving isn't the problem it was in earlier games.

I read somewhere that the developers somewhat regretted putting playable NES games in the original Animal Crossing because they realized a lot of people started using it as an NES emulator instead of playing Animal Crossing!

4 trips to 2 islands. Darn dodo makes that big speech about never returning and that's all I do!.

Can't get the flimsey axe or the shovel, my daughter played first so can't get it from Nook and Timmy does not have it.

What am I missing here?

Possibly you can buy the recipe from Tommy or Timmy (I forget which) in the shop. He actually has two screens of items to sell, but it can be easy to miss the 2nd one.

7 trips now and it's always 1 of 2 islands with peaches. I have no idea if it's a glitch nor what to do about it.

I had loads to do this morning - the museum opened up in earnest, so I spent a little time listening to Blathers' lectures and donating items (and briefly exploring the museum - it's vast compared to what I remember from New Leaf), then I checked out the newly opened shop.
Most of my time was dedicated to preparing the housing for three new residents I had invited to the island over the past several days, which required me to farm a considerable amount of materials and craft them into the various pieces of furniture they demanded.

I can't seem to find different fruit either. I've got a feeling it's hardcoded so that finding different fruit on these islands is rare. The intention might be to encourage you to visit other peoples islands - you can freely take people's fruit, can't you? If not, I'm sure someone would be willing to gift you one if you visited.

Just curious.
What if i do time travel by fastening the day to tomorrow to see someone will come to my island or the bulding process can be done quickly after being paid off ?

I have a feeling it's not a glitch. The developers probably didn't want to make it too easy to acquire all the fruit. If it's like past Animal Crossing games, you'll eventually get all the fruit one way or another. In New Leaf, I received non-native fruit as gifts in the mail over a period of time. There's no need to rush it. Just relax and enjoy.

Whilst that is a possibility, I've heard from people who get truly random, different islands. They've found 2 or 3 other fruits.

That makes it feel like more like a glitch.

I think getting different fruits on the mystery islands are just rare. I keep getting cherry (my native fruit) + coconut even though my friends and sister got bamboo already

Nonetheless I got all of the fruits from friends and made my orchard already! So all is fine in the world

I had around two-dozen donations this morning that I had been saving up. And I listened to Blathers blather about each one!

I wish there was a quick way to see what items you've already donated to the museum, such as a small check mark in your inventory or something. But I guess I'll have to talk to Blathers before I do any mass sell-offs just to be sure. At least I don't have to go to a different part of the island like in New Leaf to visit the kindly owl. That eliminates a loading screen at any rate.
