I'm just curious as I haven't read through this whole thread or online but I haven't seen any of this, but are people complaining about tools breaking in this game? Because it is much worse than the weapons in BotW, and everybody complained about that to no end. I'm not complaining about either, mind you, I just find it ironic that everyone hated it in that game but don't seem to mind it here when it is much worse here.

It's equally annoying here in AC. But the difference is due to the genre. BotW is an action/adventure game, when all your weapons are broken you have to avoid confronting enemies, which is a big part of the gameplay loop. Conversely AC is a sim life game. If your tools break, there are other aspects to the game you can engage with if you don't feel like shaking trees for sticks at that moment in time.

I really don't mind weapons breaking in Breath of the Wild. It turns them into a resource that has to be carefully managed, which I find interesting, and acquiring new weapons is so easy that unless you're needlessly reckless (such as wasting your best weapons on low-level enemies), you should never be in a situation where you're unarmed.
As it relates to Animal Crossing, crafting new tools is trivial, making breakage a minor nuisance at worse, and you can pretty quickly get recipes for sturdier tools which mitigates this to a great extent. I'm just waiting for my vaulting pole to break leaving me stranded on the other side of the river!

But all your weapons are never broken in BotW, at least they never were for me. They are so abundant that I was never close to running out. On the other hand, I usually only have one of each tool in AC, so when my net breaks I am unable to catch that new bug I just saw until I shake a dozen trees to get the sticks and go craft it, by which time the bug is gone. I'm sure it will only be an issue for a short time before I can get sturdier tools, and again I'm not complaining that much about it anyways, but it is a much bigger issue than the weapons in Zelda are but people were incredibly mad about that. Just an observation.
I am in absolute Grá with this game so far and so many of my friends are playing it too. I've never seen so many of my friends appear online at the same time. Visiting people's islands is so nice. Especially as we're all socially distancing and can't see each other IRL. I just know that I'm gonna sink hundreds of hours into this. It was so worth the wait 😁😁
@alpacatears Yeah, seems quarantine + a game that gives a great escape from reality = a lot more activity. People really seems to dig this game, and so am I!
Is there a deeper meaning behind fish bait ? You can always find fish, so i dont see the point using fish bait. Do u Get a chanse to Get a rarer fish in a pond or something ? Or by using the fish bait in general.

That's a good question. I don't know if it does anything other than make a fish instantly appear. I caught a sturgeon near a riverhead and seeded the water with bait to see if I could catch another, but I only reeled in common fish.
There was some question about if gyroids were still in the game - has there been confirmation one way or another yet?
Also does anyone know if other game consoles are in the game? We have Switch - I'd love to collect one of each generation. NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii and Wii U too. And I'd love it if we could get the handhelds too!

@Heavyarms55 I was gifted a normal Switch and then the Animal Crossing Special Edition Switch showed up in the Nook Store today for $35,000 bells! Maybe other consoles will show up later.
@Heavyarms55 It rained on our island yesterday, but we didn't find any gyroids today. Of course, we don't have the ability to go too far onto our island, so maybe we just didn't reach them. I think my son found one fossil he said and that's all any of us dug up.
I need help. I can't progress because i need one more exterior item for one of the future residents of my island. My other two houses are built but i cant talk to tom because he says he's waiting on all of them to be ready. I didn't buy a barrel from timmy when he was still in the tent, which is the item i need. SOS or if anyone has barrels please let me know.
@Xyphon22 It rained for me too, but I didn't have enough time this morning before work to search my whole island. I'm just waiting for confirmation of whether or not they are still in the game.
Also it's entirely possible that they will come in one of the planned free content updates.
@MattyHammo Ohh Well that's nice that that item is not limited to people who bought the special edition console!
I do hope all the other consoles are - or will be added - at some point. I know New Leaf at least had Gamecube and Virtual Boy. And of course the first game had the NES titles...
I would love an update that supports NSO and lets us play NES and SNES titles from NSO via consoles in Animal Crossing. It's unlikely, but man that would be neat!
@Heavyarms55
Btw, what is the purpose of collecting Gyroids (Haniwa) ?
I never have any interest to collect a humanoid statue for funeral ceremony.
Kinda creepy.
