@Dev-N yeah, I get why they didn't change the personalities, but I wish they had. They got those personalities for their Squid Sister versions, but if they are roleplaying as Deep Cut now, they should also act in character!
@D-Star92 i know, the wait is so difficult!!! but staying up for big releases is always pretty fun. how are you enjoying the new update so far?! @Dev-N i am very excited to have cece on my island, although it is sad to hear that the personalities dont match, but at the same time humorous!!! they really perfected the new villager designs. are the splatoon items cool?

@OctolingKing13 I didn't play too much of the new update, kind of want to wait until the upgrade pack comes out before I do the hotel stuff, but it does look like a nice update. I love how you can craft multiple copies of the same DIY item in one go. I also went ahead and got my first storage upgrade underway.
@Dev-N Whoa, I forgot about the amiibo update. I don't have any Splatoon amiibo, but I do have some Zelda ones. I should try one out next time an animal villager moves out.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
I tried the update. I don't get the point of this. I've already played the Happy Home Paradise DLC to boredom, there's literally nothing new about decorating these simple hotel rooms. This feels like a cheap minimum effort update to get some media attention. And before someone says "it's free", sure. Doesn't make it good.
Personally, I never played the DLC so the hotel would be new to me. But also, I feel like Slumber Island is the biggest new feature by far; it's basically Minecraft Creative Mode for animal crossing.
@Anti-Matter All Splatoon furniture is unlocked to buy from Nook Shopping just by scanning a Splatoon amiibo just once. It just stinks that we still can only order five items a day. Definitely one of the silliest restrictions in New Horizons, if not THE most.
There's a lot of new items. I'm surprised to see the items from Pocket Camp available to all now, like the Brake Tapper. Looking forward to unlocking the Zelda items once I start inviting Mineru.
@Dev-N oh my there is so many!!! ive seen the big man bench and the fashion and i need it so bad 😭 @D-Star92 i just played a bit this evening too, and its really nice! i love how much more accessible the crafting is too!!! im glad youre enjoying it!
The slumber islands are amazing, gives you a lot of opportunity!!

@FishyS Terraforming was already creative mode. HHP is creative mode for interior and exterior decorations. Slumber island is such a vapid feature to a game that’s already barely a game.
Then they ask us to pay $5 to turn on a shoddy DLSS upscaler for Switch 2. If the pattern isn’t clear to others it sure is to me.
I'm having fun with the slumber island. I like that you can make bridges instantly and make 100 warp pipes to play multiplayer whack a mole with. Having limitless everything to cover your whole island is fun. And that you can do crazy things on multiple variously sized islands without messing up your main island.
Granted, I wouldn't have payed for this (I didn't even pay for the original DLC), but I'll happily take it for free.
I'm not buying the Switch 2 version. I really think that should have been a free upgrade.
Some people will always find a reason to complain I guess. Such entitlement. I've put hundreds of hours into this game and still play it a bit. Is a resolution bump and a few other bits worth less the price of a lunch at Maccas? Yeah, I'd say so. But if it's not to you then that's cool, it's not like they weren't clear about what it was
And for the free content. It's free. There was even an upgrade to the resolution of the game in portable mode for Switch 2 in the free part of the update. Which I assume is a game changer given 720p on Switch 2 portable was the end of the world, or so I was told. What's there to complain about?
It is nice to see a resolution boost in handheld. I'm not terminally online so I didn't know that was in, and had my Switch 2 docked. Appreciate that they implemented HD Rumble 2 support as well. Rudimentary, but does feel a bit nicer.
Hotel still feels very pointless but I guess we'll see when/if the tourists do something interesting. I'm not here to "hate" on a free update. I just feel very ambivalent towards this.

I didn't really mean to come off as complaining, I just think it's interesting that they gave us a surprisingly generous free update and then nickle-and-dimed us on the much smaller Switch 2 update. I can however understand that even though the content is less in the Switch 2 version, changes like adding mouse support amd tweaking the graphics probably still took considerable development time.
They wouldn't have had to add much to the Switch 2 edition to easily be worth $5 to me, but they managed it. Granted, I don't have a 4K tv so I feel like I am less the intended audience.
