Topic: Animal Crossing: New Horizons

@ShieldHero Everything I've found online either hasn't been helpful or has been describing different circumstances. I haven't been able to find a clear-cut answer on if the island transfer could go through, but the island would be stuck without a representative. I just don't have any interest in starting over.

@PikaPhantom, if online isn't helping, then it's probably best to go by what Nintendo itself says: as long as the first console still exists, you can transfer any island's data to a different Switch / Switch 2, either through system transfer or the Island Transfer Tool app on the eShop. The resident representative can't be changed without a restart, so if you transferred an island to another Switch / Switch 2 without the resident representative, then you wouldn't be able to do anything the resident representative can without a restart. Only the resident representative can progress through the main storyline, for example.
In all honesty, I believe that the resident representative system, and just the one island per system limit in general, is a big pain in the a** and is just plain stupid. Fun fact: I purchased my own Switch seperate from my family's shared one just so I could play Animal Crossing, since I didn't want to share my island with my siblings. To this day, I'm still the only family member who has played the game, even though a few of my siblings have expressed interest in said game. I really hope that the next Animal Crossing finally ditches the limit. Since I will probably have my own family at some point in the future, I promised myself that I would never buy another Animal Crossing unless they got rid of the stupid one island/town/city per system limit. I apologize for the wall of text and that I can't say anything more than what Nintendo has said, but I do hope that your situation gets resolved, and in the most simple way possible.

Does anyone have advice on finding new kinds of fruit trees? I've been looking for cherry trees but still no luck.

@jellocube, to get other kinds of fruits, there are only three ways as far as I know of:
1: your mom gives you a predetermined other kind of fruit in a limited quantity, then never again
2: finding them by random luck by doing mystery island tours (I've only gotten one other kind of fruit this way, and I've done several of those, I forget how many exactly)
3: asking other real life players to gift or trade other kinds of fruits to you via online play. I have cherry trees with cherries, so maybe I could find a time to help you out if we became Nintendo Switch friends

Huh. I was getting ready to finally transfer my island from my og switch to my switch 2, only to be greeted with “there’s no island data in this console”.

I have no idea why, when, or how it got deleted. I hadn’t played with it in years.

I wonder if it’s because I have a separate island on my Switch Lite? Like, did the game notice I was seeing other islands and decided to leave with the kids?

I still need to complete my fruit collection on my island for ACNH does anyone have any spare apples or pears they want to trade or sell. I have all the other fruit to trade.

@Fallingshadow, I have apples, pears, and cherries, I'm missing the other fruit! However, I'm often doing other things in real life and it's kind of hard to schedule island meetings. For example, today I'm going on a campout with my scout troup this afternoon which doesn't end until tomorrow afternoon. Could you do this fruit exchange with me sometime before 2 in the afternoon (my time zone in the eastern United States specifically)? I'll send you a friend request right now to make it easier, my Switch username is King Shao.

I redownloaded the game to see how it ran on Switch 2. I have plenty of fruit if you'd like.
