@jump Yeah things have gotten very bad. When she had to dis-avow Putin approving of those specific views of hers, she has clearly not self-reflected on why its bad that things had gotten to that point, to say the least. Also a real full circle to point that out in this thread. :V

One thing though, you make it sound like I brought her up rather than just making fun of her so send those complaints to those that did.

I just wrote a 2nd message to no one in particular below my message to you specifically, but there's no succinct way I thought to say that, hence this sentence that is curiously continuing on past the point that it needs to.

Anyway until playing the game proves me otherwise, I like the art style. I'm surprised that's a controversial opinion, especially for the characters.

Black Hole Rising is going to be completely new for me. With that said, I haven't played the original since 2014 or so, so I'll still play that first.

I've barely played the GBA games, I remember playing the first game but that was it. I hardly remember anything about it.

So yeah the second game will be completely new to me too, I only know about the characters because of DS, lol.

Hopefully this will get some DS content via DLC or an expansion, doesn't have to be the game itself, just features, characters, and units, stuff like that. Would love that.

...In-game purchases apparently...

Either an error, or Dual Strike DLC might be coming, I really hope so. Even if it's just the characters, units, and dual co mechanic, I would love this. Maybe even the characters from Days of Ruin would be nice.

I mean...they seriously can't put micro-transactions into this...so yeah, either it's an error on the Nintendo website or eshop page, or we are getting DLC. lol

@Joeynator3000 @Colonel_Mustache I can't see it on the UK eshop, no sign of in-game purchases. Though if it was added to the US eshop very recently, it's less likely to be a mistake.

It's probably the thing about separate purchase required for cloud saves/online multiplayer. A few people have gotten themselves worked about games having DLC only to see it was that before.

Just had a look at Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon Legends on the US site as they were the first two games that came to mind that don't have DLC or micro-transactions and they also say in game purchases. It's probably just cloud saves/online multiplayer type things.

Yeah I looked around, Return to Dreamland Deluxe has it, but not Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so...I dunno, whatever. Dual Strike DLC would still be nice, though. I need the dual-CO mechanic back alongside Kindle and Jugger. (...and Koal I guess, didn't care about him that much, lol)

Might pick this game(s) up in June. I would be going into this game as an average Fire Emblem enjoyer. Seeing how these game were made by intelligent systems as well, I have no reason to not try the remasters anyways. Any advice from the resident NL Advance Wars Community? Should I pick this up? What do I expect from these games? Something similar to a typical FE experience?

@TheBigBlue I don't know how to describe it, I was actually not a big fan of FE (tried some of the older games and couldn't stay interested in them). So, unlike FE, this game is less of an RPG and you don't perma lose characters if they die. You simply use factories (or capture and then use them) to build units, along with other buildings for aerial and naval. Both series are quite similar in that they're both turn based strategy games, if you love FE all I can say is give Advance Wars a try.

But yeah, the characters don't really participate in the battle itself like in FE, they're more like elsewhere giving orders, and the unit abilities and all that depend on the character. Some COs make the units more powerful, but also more expensive to build, another character is good with ranged units, but not with direct attackers, and another character is the opposite.

And there's my crappy explanation....xD

@Joeynator3000 I wasn’t expecting permadeath at all because that’s an FE exclusive thing. Your description was just fine, it seems to me like this game is one of those tower defence games by the description. Where you protect your side and attack theirs sort of thing

@TheBigBlue I guess it could be some kind of tower defense, you do have a base you need to protect from other sides capturing it. I dunno, never looked at it as a tower defense before, just a normal turn based strategy game. xD

I might still get this day one but with Zelda about to drop… I won’t touch it for a while. But I want to show my support so they either make a new one or do dual strike and days of ruin.

I do kind of wish this game had come out even just a few weeks earlier to give people enough time to play it before TOTK drops. I'll still be playing it on day one so I'll have something to play before TOTK, but I think from a marketing standpoint it would have made more sense to drop this maybe April 7 or even earlier sometime in March. Because at that point, the game was done and Nintendo was okay with giving it an actual release date. I'm just sort of worried this game won't do as well thanks to it being so close to Nintendo's biggest release in years; less than a month away.
