I own 7 and 8 already on PS5 but I was pleasantly surprised to see I have £49 of points on the game collection website so I jumped in and got the full trilogy box for £36…
I do fancy replaying 7/8 again as it’s been a long time so I’m quite happy with that
Man, I love that about The Game Collection. I used all my points to get Metroid Prime 4 for about £11 when it came it.
Yeh it really is a great feature, the service from them is top class as well I’ve never had an issue and general get the games a day or so early!

Digital Foundry is a bit late with their analysis and reviews for Requiem. But then, given how there is not a single video comparing platforms yet, I imagine Capcom is not allowing that until release date which could be impacting their content…
While I appreciate that reviews like Nintendo Life’s are judging the game based on its own merits which is how most people will judge them really, I was so looking forward to DF’s technical analysis on the different versions and how they compare.
My triple pack arrived today, resisted the temptation to start with 9. Started with 7, not the longest games so should be able to enjoy them and get to 9 in a week or so

Just beat RE7. I was a bit iffy on it at first (there's a reason I've spent eight years or so avoiding it lol), but by the end, I had a pretty good time with it overall. It feels more and more like a real RE game as it progresses. Not a fan of certain elements, but I can definitely see why people celebrated this when it first came out, as it does very much represent a massive return to horror for the series after RE6.
Got a whole bunch of DLC to get through before I move on to Village. I'm in no rush tbh.
@JamesS2612 Gonna ignore the DLC and just blast through the campaigns? Or maybe double-back and play the DLC after the main campaigns?
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
I made it to the first typewriter save point in Requiem and was really tense about it, hoping I'd find a save point before dying. I've played both docked and handheld, and it's fantastic. It looks great, it feels smooth, there's gyro aiming... what more could I ask for?
I know framerate doesn't hold a perfect 60 the entire time and there's at least one choke point where, at its worst, it drops to 30, but by and large it seems to be smooth the majority of the time. Especially in handheld mode.

I’m glad you ended up enjoying it towards the end! I have played this before years and years ago but I’m surprised I can’t remember much at all so it’s essentially a new game for me. Likewise I’m going to take my time and see how I feel at the end regarding the DLC but likely I will try and get as much out of each game before moving onto the next.
There’s very few games I enjoy more than Resident evil so I’m quite happy to take my time !

Got the trio pack predownloaded and I wasn't able to play them at all today, and probably won't have time tomorrow either. So sad.
I've played 7 and 8 to death but I just love these games so playing them on the go is a great incentive to get the pack (and it isn't all that much more expensive than getting 9 alone, for some reason, basically 7 & 8 together end up costing nearly the same as the Requiem Deluxe Kit DLC when separately they're actually quite expensive)
I was able to play a good amount of RE9 today, mostly docked and wow. Arguably the best looking game on the system so far. There are a couple of areas where you can tell the frames drop, but honestly it feels very smooth most of the time. As I've seen some people say already, a 40FPS mode would go a long way I think, but how it is right now is a very solid way to play the game. It is definitely scarier than 8 so far as well, at least for me.
ALSO gyro is such a game changer for these games, it feels perfect! I assume 7 and 8 have them as well but I haven't checked yet. Excited to replay those 2 on here purely to experience them again with gyro.

Only thing is, the RE games gyro in handheld don't swap roll and yaw so you have to swivel-point for left/right similar to some other games. But once you acclimate it's fine. I hate how zombies juke in RE Village. If gyro had switched roll and yaw for handheld it would be less of an issue but it can be difficult dialing in quickly under pressure when they're constantly juking.

@JaxonH Ahh that is unfortunate. I only played handheld very briefly and it was before I discovered gyro in the settings. The juking is super annoying which was why I was so pleased with the gyro with the pro controller in docked play. Definitely makes it easier to handle.

Glad to see it looks and runs well on Switch 2. I’m likely to pick it up on my PS5 but I’ll maybe pick up the Japanese version on Switch 2 down the line!
"A corpse, should be left well alone. Oh, I know very well how the secrets beckon so sweetly. Only an honest death will cure you now. Liberate you from your wild curiosity."
The funny thing with handheld mode is that apparently the game is outputting a hilariously low resolution; but the post processing is so good it ends up looking just fine.
Requiem is fantastic! I don’t know if it’s scarier than previous games in Grace’s sections or if I’m just more easily scared but wow, it’s really tense. I’m loving it, but I have to play during the day hehe.
Also it looks gorgeous, not quite PS5 level but I never expected that, still really beautiful. If Capcom improved the hair design and offered locked 40fps mode, it would be the best version to play given the flexibility.
As for gyro aiming, I’m going to disagree with you guys. It’s nice to have it, but I don’t think it works very well at all. There is a mechanic where you need to stand still while aiming to do more powerful shots, which is nearly impossible to do accurately with gyro enabled.
