@rallydefault I believe it was whitelisting for Switch 1 compatibility? So most or possibly all of it would have installed by just connecting to the Internet once during setup of the device. I assume games made later just all work. But some people were worrying about it just because such a check was even possible.

"Oh, I didn't even know about that with the Switch 1 physical games - did that actually make it through? Because I'm pretty sure I've freshly booted up a bunch of my Switch 1 physicals on my Switch 2 without being on the internet."

Supposedly, from what I've found on the internet, the Switch 2 can't play any Switch 1 physical games without downloading the Switch 2's day 1 system update, which obviously requires internet to download, but after that, you can play them without internet.

Also, remember how over time, newer waves of the Switch 1 at stores would have the newer firmware automatically installed on it from the get-go? If they do that for the Switch 2, then it would have the necessary update on it, so... 🤔

Ah, ok, I see.

Yea, that makes sense.

I just watched a Spawn Wave video about the PlayStation online check. He's usually a pretty even-keeled guy.

Seems to be applying to digital games purchased now and into the future (if they don't change this). He took his console offline and even reset the internal battery. Afterwards, he was only able to play any digital games he had bought and installed previous to all of this, but any games purchased today or within the last couple days since this started would not boot and displayed an error message that an internet check was required for licensing.

To note: The game licenses were not removed from his account or anything, but he couldn't boot those recently-purchased digital games.

He tested Pragmata as his physical game, and that was fine, but that's a game fully on disc (I believe).

@rallydefault I did hear about that Spawn Wave video, I'm thinking of checking it out later even though I've only watched like two of his videos in the past 😅.

When I started Legacy of Kain Defiance Remastered, the game crashed during the intro cutscene so it seems like I need to wait for patches for the game to be fixed. I'm now not really sure what I want to play in the lead up to Indiana Jones.
Would be really cool if we got a Rebirth demo this week, Remake's demo was just over a month before launch (December 16th demo, January 22nd launch).

Just right on time XD the demo is out now

Do any big Third Party games run/target at 60FPS? I would like to test how far my Nintendo Switch 2 can push it's graphical and performance limits.
