@Lazz
Ya, Mobapad adapters and M6HD arent as good imo. They don't charge when connected to the system and they're not fully flush length wise which is kinda annoying. And no HD Rumble 2. Still a great cheap option if you already own them but, this is the way to go imo.
I, too, am waiting on the new NS2 model of Joycon from Mobapad. That's gonna be dope.
Didn't a while ago they offer free upgrade to people who got the OG adapters to the ones with charging capabilities? :0
But yeah I'm also waiting for the new model, can't wait for it
@darkfenrir
If they did, I wasn't aware of it. Didn't even know they made adapters that allowed charging, actually.

Been a long time since we hunted together. Can't remember if we did in Rise, but I do remember MH4U, doing a 1080 spin off a ledge with dual blades and chopping off Rathian's tail mid air, wishing so badly 3DS offered video capture (we really take things for granted nowadays).
When MH Wilds drops on NS2, we can hunt with gamechat which I haven't done MH with chat since MH3U back on Wii U (well, aside from a few hunts with someone in MH World back on PS4, but that was only a few hunts)

@JaxonH Maybe, I still don't like NSO...maybe I'll get it again, we could still do Rise if you want. I kinda want to play Wario World, but at the same time, I really don't want to buy that stupid NSO Expansion Pack. T.T
I miss Virtual Console...

Why not join a group of members here like I did. I pay $10 each year for NSO+ and have been for years. Form a group of 8, have the other 7 PayPal you $10 at the start of each year, and reap the benefits of NES, SNES, N64, GC, Genesis, GB, GBA and free upgrades like Zelda BotW/TotK NS2 Editions.
That said, you don't need NSO+ to use Gamechat and online. Regular NSO is $20/yr. And the cloud saves are a must anyways imo. I recommend NSO+ in a family plan though. $10/yr for the premium tier by leveraging family plan is a deal so good it kinda feels like highway robbery. But it's 100% legit, allowed and even encouraged by Nintendo.
I'd be down for MH Rise. I beat Amatsu solo in 49 minutes. Definitely could have used a bit of help!
@darkfenrir
Oh that's neat. Kinda ugly but practicality is what matters here. Is that the name of the new ones? The M12HD?

They are putting their pro controller for switch 2 on pre-sale for now. Although I honestly don't really care for that--just waiting for their joycons XD
@darkfenrir
Nice. The official Pro Controller is already essentially flawless so, there's nothing their controller really does better (aside from macros but I don't need those).
The M12HD Joycon, however. That's another story entirely. They knocked it out the park with the M6HD. I still use them on my chipped Switch OLED to this day. And if you disassemble a NS1 charge grip to take the rear "wings" off the middle slab, you can use it for a Pro Controller grip with the M6HD Joycon that feels very ergonomic.
Please let me know when those M12HD go up for preorder, whenever that ends up being. Definitely gonna want a pair of those.

@JaxonH I just...rather...not bother with the expansion in general, seems like a massive waste of money just to play a Gamecube game or two for a week or so and be done with it forever or something, lol. Also I'm never bothering with game chat.

Ya, i recently resubscried to NSO. They definitely improved the CRT filter for NES & SNES titles, but it still doesn't look quite as good as the real thing on a CRT, and the latency is noticeable. I was like Nah, this pales in comparison to real software on real hardware with a legit SD CRT set up. Plus, NES NSO titles have dark desaturated colours which seems to be an going problem ever since the Wii Virtual Console days. To compensate jack the color up on your TV using native color gamut, instead of auto, right before colors start to clip.
SNES NSO titles also have a little less vibrancy or saturation to the colours too compared to the real thing, but far less severe compared to NSO NES.. That one dude at MyLifeInGaming mentioned that he struggled to play through F-Zero GX on NSO due to the noticeable delay, where as Try seemed fine and unbothered by it. realizing & knowing it was there, but it didn't really compromise his enjoyment all that much. In the end, he still prefered using the original GCN, software, with a certain HDMI cable adapter on his OLED TV, or component to CRT.
But ya, I just can't do console emulation anymore in most cases, I'd rather get the actual carts, and pop them in lets say an Analogue Super Nt(Which unfortunately now go for over a grand on eBay), Duo, 3D, Mega Sg(etc) using their CRT filters, on something like a smaller 42" QD-OLED TV, if they actually release this year at that size, as far as modern set ups go, or get the best experience by playing these SD Consoles on a good 27-32" CRT, through either composite or component, using a Gcomp board.
I'm tempted to try out NSO Virutal Boy and buy that VB replica shell/holster, to use with 'NS1' OLED, since it will retain those perfect deep VB Black levels and solid motion clarity, compared to what you get with NS2's display. Knowing me though, I'll most likely just rebuy an Actual VB, and get the games that i want and be done with it, Or just emulate it them Quest 3. I just can't get on board paying another monthly bill or annual subcription for a service that I'll barely use, with all of the issues I stated above.
I'm fine with emulation, and probably would've been fine with it on Switch/Switch 2...I just hate having to pay for a subscription just to play a couple of games. They really should just give us the option to freakin' buy and download single games instead. You know...like back on the Wii U and 3DS? >_>

The last thing i want is another monthly bill, just to get hit by a slow-drip release schedual. I'd rather just buy the games separately just like we could back with the Wii's VC. I had my Wii hooked up to a 32" FullScreen Sony WEGA SD CRT(Final 2006 model/series), with component cables and it was a perfect match for the Virtual Console back in the later 2000's. Perfect blur-free motion clarity unlike the TV's of today, and zero latency. Vs those god awful smearing LCD & LED TV's with noticeable lag that paved the way in the later 2000's and onwards.
Plasmas overall were better in terms of Picture quality, but the latency was even higher. But now with QD-OLED we've got perfect blacks, they're self submissive like CRT & Plasma, have great brightness, 4K, 120fps, HDR and whatever else. Motion clarity is still poor unless you use top tier black frame insertion through a scaler(Like RetroTINK4K) or run games at 120fps like Prime 4 to cut down 50% of that blur that's drenching the motion clarity...Which definitely makes a dif', but there's still 50% of the blur left compared to a CRT. I'm just rambling as always, but there may be 240hz QD-OLED TV's in 2026, and with TINK4K, 240hz bfi will remove 75% of QD-OLED motion blur, edging out even the greatest plasmas. Think Pioneer. getting you 25% closer to CRT motion clarity. That would be incredible. But for now, in order to gaint that 75% reduction in blur you would be limited to 1080p in SDR. But i'm perfectly fine with that for now.
Anyways, blah blah. Back to Analogue. I just wish they would re-stock & sell their Super Nt, Mega Sg and revemp their Nt Mini(NES) into a smaller better design that plays better tribute to the OG NES. That would be the perfect solution for playing NES, SNES & Genesis games on modern displays. You bypass emulation lag, get a better CRT Filter, no weird color inaccuracies, combined with and a ton of options to play and tinker with. I think they allow you to shrink the games 4:3 screen size/aspect ratio down to your liking if your HDTV happens to be too large. NSO games in CRT mode, are like nearly 45" in 4:3 on my 55" which is just way too big. 8-16 bit consoles, including Saturn, PS1 & N64, imo look best at 27" - 32".
The only two Analogue Systems currently available for sale brand new are the Duo(TurboGrafx) & 3D(N64).
Pikmin 3 running at 60fps @1080p+, with Mouse support for NS2. I'm down.
Based on my preference, the Wii U version using the Wii Remote, Nunchuck + SensorBar, for TV-play, while having the Wii U's game pad on a kickstand on your coffee table, solely to use as Map with it's display is the definitive way to control & play the game.
But, a potential 60fps NS2 bump may lour me in and forgo that precious Wii U control set up, and either just use NS2 mouse or stick controls. As is, I just can't get on board with either the deteched Joy-Con 1's gyro aiming or pro Controller Gyro for P3. Cross hair drifting always fumbles & drifts, it's never all that reliable and i can't stand having to press a button constantly to re-center the cross hair. Same thing applies to the NS ports of Pikmin 1&2. Wii versions play much better if motion pointer aiming is your thing. Besides, P1&2 don't even look all that great in 1080p. the dated low res ground textures, especially when you zoom in with the camera for ex, look jarring compared to how crispy and HD the characters look on screen.
I'll say it again, but GameCube/Wii-Tier visuals don't always look too hot in either 1080p and 4K. 480i(+ Component) helps midigate or hide that stuff, and just makes these games look more organic, round and natural. Once you get to Wii U however, that's when you'll obviously want 1080p.
@Joeynator3000
Personally I feel like I got most of the value out of NSO through the voucher program (RIP), bundled DLC/S2 Editions and stuff like F-Zero. And that alone becomes worth it when you split the cost across multiple users via the family plan
The fact that there are classic games on there is just a nice bonus. Not something I keep my subscription for, but a nice convenience. If they cut the classic games from NSO it wouldn't really change much for me. Although I will admit, GameCube and N64 on NSO is nice given N64 emulation can be a bit finicky and GC emulation requires a bit more horsepower. I'd rather play GC on Switch 2 than Steam Deck, personally

They should really bring back vouchers as a NSO expansion pack feature. The very sporadic DLC (and now sporadic Switch 2 version updates) were too person-specific and e.g. the Splatoon 2 DLC eventually got pretty out-of-date; vouchers would be a more continuing value.
@Khwarezm89
Ya, something tells me it won't lol. I've just been there too many times with Capcom and MH games.
Kinda glad I stopped playing before putting much time into it.
@skywake
Splitting NSO+ across family plan, making cost $10 USD per YEAR, is just too good to pass up. It's half the price of the base NSO which was already just $20. Cloud saves are mandatory anyways. And honestly, never really cared about playing on "original systems". Too lazy for all that, not enough room, not enough HDMI ports, not enough tolerance for turning on additional systems and not having hybrid.
When I play on NS2, if I move the analog does the character move? Ya? OK check. When I press a button does the character jump? Ya? OK fantastic. This is where I'll play then.
