@Haruki_NLI that’s good to hear. I was a little concerned considering we’ve seen nothing of Part 3 yet (it’s quite possible it will launch near the PS6?) and we’ve been burned before by S-E with Kingdom Hearts on Switch.
@Buizel I did think that too initially, but for SE to build Part 3 with PS6 in mind would leave so much money 'on the table'. The market for these games on Switch2 alone will be considerable, and likely impenetrable if Part 3 needed PS6-ish power to run competantly. Also from Sony perspective, I'm unsure if the sales of Rebirth would make Sony see Part 3 as a 'system seller'.
For Sony, the smart move to shift PS6 units would be a full scale 'from the ground up' remake of Bloodborne.... developed by Bluepoint (BP did the DeS remake, and since then Sony actually acquired BP into their studio portfolio)
So it'll be interesting to see what happens with Part3. Would be nice to see a concurrent launch across all platforms
Knowing we're getting all 3 Final Fantasy games natively on Switch 2- competent, good looking, well running versions all on one hybrid system, is huge. If you started on PS4, you had to buy another console to finish the trilogy. Whereas starting on Switch 2 you know you're getting quality releases of all 3 titles on your platform.
I'm very pleased with the quality of 3rd party games on Switch 2. So much better than what we saw on Switch, and there were still some really impressive ports on Switch. Doesn't mean every game will be problem free, but after seeing Cyberpunk, Star Wars Outlaws and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, I'm convinced very few games can't see quality ports if the right team is handling them and devoting enough time and resources into them.

Picked up Galaxy 1 & 2 for $69AU, Target has a promotion going currently. For our American friends working in freedom dollars that works out to be the equivalent to a US pre-tax price of like.... $42USD...
Can't complain about getting Galaxy 1&2 in 4K at that price. Seems pretty reasonable IMO
Right now I’m still wondering when we’ll start getting new Joy-Con colors for the Switch 2, cuz I feel like not just getting a pair for more players but in colors I might like.
Finally, it's over. I have a Switch 2 now and my screen protector is applied (trying to get standalone Switch 2 in a physical store was very difficult). Going to wait before I properly use the console, I waited a day to let the screen protector set for both my Switch and Switch OLED so I'll do the same here.
But yeah, I'm really excited to finally be able to play DK Bananza.

Congrats my friend. I know screen protectors can be a pain. I got the 2 pack from Genki that came with an auto-application frame, where you snap the plastic rectangle around system, pull the tab out and it automatically applies the tempered glass. Got it 1st try, whereas with Switch 1 I spent hours with half a dozen screen protectors before finally nailing it without any dust or micro bubbles. Thank God it's so easy now with the new auto-application frames.
I recommend the Jsaux grips. They come with a shell for the main system but I dont use that. Just bought it for the joycon grips in handheld mode. But when using joycon separately I prefer them as is, without any grips. So I have a 2nd pair with charge grip (which has rear GL/GR buttons) when playing tabletop at home or docked.
You can also get microSD storage thats 3D printed from Etsy that you can adhere to the top right of the back of the system (just below power and volume buttons) if you plan to own more than one microSD Express card.
Speaking of which, the Lexar mSD EX have the highest capacity with fastest read rates (1TB at 900 mbps). I got a cheaper Gamestop 1TB at 800 mbps for my NSW1 games.
Pro Controller is also highly recommended. If you really want an extra pair of joycon and dont want to spend on both, the charge grip with extra joycon is a great solution. But the pro controller is legitimate as they come. Easily my favorite traditional form controller to date. It's slightly more ergonomic than the NSW1 controller, and the GL/GR are near flush with the shell so you dont even notice them or accidentally press them, but using them makes games so much more enjoyable. So easy to map by holding home in-game, quick menu pops up and you can map right there in that menu. Playing Cyberpunk with gyro where you can keep your thumb on the right analog and use GL/GR to jump and crouch/slide without removing your thumb really makes a difference in the experience.
Lastly, I'd recommend dropping a tenner on an 8" x 10" (200 mm x 250 mm) firm mouse pad, which is just big enough to toss on your lap or beside you on the couch and comfortably use the joycon in mouse mode.

Haven't really checked with Galaxy 2 but Ive undocked while playing Galaxy 1 and didnt notice anything unusual. Ill fire it up and leave it running for a bit then undock, and see if it's hot.

Played a level, got a star, undocked... ever so slightly warm. Definitely not "hot". Will let run an hour and undock again. If any different will update.

@JaxonH the fan was going wild and it was hotter than normal. Only for galaxy 2 though. It didn't get like this for bananza, so I'd be interested to know if you play docked for a good 45min to an hour if your fan cranks on and your system is "hot."

Let it run docked for well over an hour after getting that star, then I undocked, and it was still just slightly warm. No fans I could hear.
