For me it was mostly just the fact that my Switch Pro Controller is 8 years old now. Obviously the nature of the Switch means you're also using the JoyCon, which have certainly worn more for me, but even so. 8 years is a fairly long time for a controller that's being regularly used
Long enough that I don't feel particularly bad about upgrading. Working on the assumption I'll get as much use out of this controller as I did the one it's taking the place of. Plus, now I have a decent player 2 controller that's not a JoyCon pair, third party controller, GameCube controller or NSO controller

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
On the topic of the Pro Controller 2: my finances aren't doing GREAT right now, so when I get my Switch 2, I'm strongly considering sticking to just the joy-cons + grip (or maybe even no grip) - there's a chance the fact they're slightly bigger makes them more comfortable than it was the case for the Switch 1.
If it feels bad anyway, I can make do with the original Pro Controller for a while.
@BrazillianCara you'll be fine with the original. I only upgraded because Costco had a great price ($10 off) and my SW1 Pro controller has some serious drift. I was using the Mobapad joycons for the SW1, which are probably the best joycons on the market, but have gotten used to the SW2 Joycons, they are a step up from the original.
So it seems like Macronix (the company that manufactures Switch and Switch 2 game cards) says they “will utilize both in-house MLC NAND and outsourced 3D NAND to meet varying capacity requirements”
This could possibly mean we’ll see more size options for Switch 2 game cards, maybe 16GB, 32GB and even 128GB.
@MrCarlos46
And with this support of cartridge capacity, it's no excuse to not using the right size of cartridge size for the lazy game company like EA, Ubisoft, etc.
And hopefully No more game key cards.
If it still costs a publisher like 10 bucks a pop for the 32 gig or 16 gig carts, you’re still gonna see game key cards and download codes.
Prices need to almost be in the single dollars per cart for publishers to be all for it these days, I feel. Discs are wicked cheap that way, but unfortunately I can’t seem to cram a Blu Ray into my Switch.
anyone see nintendos patent for the crank on the side of the joycon? thoughts? i thought it looks really cool, although playdate did it first 😹 i think it being used for fishing in the next animal crossing or mario party jamboree minigames would be sooo cool. deffo would get if they released it.

I finally got a Switch 2 just a few days ago. I got the Mario Kart World Bundle and I picked up the new DK game along with a pro controller. Haven’t but in too much hours into it yet since I’ve been busy with work, but I really enjoy both games.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Capcom Beat em Collection, SNK Heroines.
@OctolingKing13 I saw it too, and I was thinking it might be for some part of Splatoon Raiders if it allows you to fish (like in that one part showing Shiver)
@DannyBoi usually about 4-6 hours of use of switch 1 games at a time. i think its worth it since everything’s faster , but if battery is your primary concern you might want to wait a few years for an upgrade. switch 2 games are usually two or two and a half hours.
