Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@IceClimbers The Nintendo U.K. tweet confirmed it was to be first in a series, so I’m wondering if third party games is what they are focusing on to keep the Switch in the spotlight for the second half of the year while first party games are kinda in development turmoil.

Eh, I was always a bit skeptical we'd get anything, tbh, @FragRed .... We'd still expect to get something on the Mario stuff in the not too distant future, if that is indeed happening

@BruceCM I think there’s a national holiday in Japan this week, not sure if a single day or not but on 23rd according to Google, there’s definitely a national holiday so there won’t be any announcements that day. I’m just not expecting Nintendo to say or do anything significant this year.

Nintendo won't be announcing system selling games until they have systems to sell (or know they will by the time the game is released). Right now, it's nearly impossible to buy a Switch so I'm not holding my breath for anything great unless they are teasers aimed at getting fans excited with no real commitment on release dates.

OK, I've checked & it's a one day holiday .... While it seems unlikely they'd have 2 mini directs in one week, anyway, so next week is still at least possible! Perhaps the next partner mini will reveal some new games, since there's not really that many to spread out otherwise?

I'm not saying Mario re-releases are coming to the Switch or not but even trustworthy leakers (hah, irony) have been wrong before such as Earthbound 3, Star Fox Grand Prix etc. Rumours are to be taken with a pinch of salt for a reason.

@Slowdive the people you mentioned were the ones that also spread the apparently false Earthbound 3 and Star Fox Grand Prix rumours. Pinch of salt.

@jump Talking about untrue rumours and racing, wasn’t there supposed to be another racing game coming to Switch this year? I’m pretty sure that was a rumour doing the rounds earlier this year and everyone believed it to be Mario Kart or F-Zero related. Seems to me that people get way too overhyped over anything and everything regardless who says it or how credible it all sounds.

There was talk based on the F-Zero twitter account but off the top of my head there wasn’t a specific rumour about a new racing game beyond there’s rumours of everything on reddit. I may have just not have been paying attention though.

It’s one of those thing where you remember the rumours were right rather than when they are wrong.

I’m not attacking those people claiming everything they say is wrong but at the end of the day lots of people talking about the same rumour doesn’t make it become fact, when it’s announced it becomes fact. Pinch of salt.

As usual, we guessed A or B or C from the Direct, but the result might be X or Y or Z.
We will never know what will Nintendo deliver from the Direct.

Well, that's a bummer. Only 10min for previously announced third-party games. Talk about killing the hype. But this can't be everything they've got for this year. There surely is a second announcement in the making. I'm curious how long Nintendo can wait to give it to us. 😉

Lols, no, @Octane .... This mini wouldn't be disappointing if people hadn't hyped themselves up for Mario or other 1st party stuff

I think Bayonetta has been pretty much done for a while now. I think they'll wait for a big Direct to show it. Who knows when that's gonna be though. My guess is they're waiting on Metroid to be showable in some form. So they can hit people Bayonetta, Zelda and Metroid all at once. To show that the Switch isn't dead in the water when the new consoles arrive

Exactly. Most likely scenarios: 1. There is just one source, and everyone is looking at the same source. Which could turn out true or false.
2. One "credible" leaker thinks it must be true. And the rest just follow suit because they believe he/she is credible or has credible sources. Least likely scenario: every leaker has done their own research and have different sources of their own confirming the same thing.

I still want that Predictions thread that shows what has been predicted and turned out to be false and what turned out to be true. We're constantly seeing these names pop up and after some repetition our brains think they just have to be credible.

Whatever happens I won't be disappointed because I'm not expecting anything. Only when the system's life cycle is done I can look back and judge for myself.
