I'm worried a new 3d All Stars for switch 2 will be NSO-subscrption-only. I hope I'm wrong. Forgive my pessimism. I just can't believe how stingy Nintendo has been with classic 3d nintendo titles since switch 1 launched. I want Mario Galaxy 2 or something cool that I can buy physically. ....there's a lot of room on these 64gb switch 2 game cards to fit a modern 3d all stars.
Also crossing fingers for something cool for Mario Kart World.
@Azileron I don't really think there would be an issue with releasing Prime 2 and 3 remastered so close to Prime 4. I mean, it's basically the same thing they did with pikmin 1 and 2 right before 4 released, and it went on to sell incredibly well.

I think it's pretty clear in retrospect 3D all-stars was limited time because Nintendo planned to eventually add the games to the not yet at that time announced expansion pack. Basically they wanted to double dip and get some quick money while still keeping Mario 64 and Sunshine rare enough to help entice people to get Expansion Pack.
I assume whatever their plans for Galaxy 2 (or Galaxy 1 for that matter) will depend on their eventual NSO plans. It wouldn't shock me if they did the same thing and sold Galaxy 2 now with plans to put ot on NSO a few years down the line.
@Bigmanfan I agree; I think it's plausible and it certainly makes sense to me. Dropping the 2 and 3 remasters before finally releasing 4 would really amp up a lot of people's excitement. Plus, there are always gonna be people, like me, who would prefer to wait for the remasters before purchasing 4. It's been a long time since I played 2 and I didn't get to spend much time with 3, so the remasters are kinda key to my eventual 4 purchase.
@Twilite9 Is it weird that I have no interest in buying the "crazy hardware" but I really hope they announce something in that vein? They're always so fascinating to see and they sometimes make me think of the Gunpei Yokoi days. Just whimsical and playful and weird.
@CaleBoi25 i would absolutely adore a twilight princess remaster, ive always wanted to play it. right now im playing wind waker, so if they come out with a wind waker remake i will be not happy. 😿 @Twilite9 i agree with most of your safe bets, but a new zelda in development surprised me! do you really think they would distract from age of imprisonment? it will be fascinating to see where they go next with it though. but we are overdue for a new yoshi game 🙏🏼🙏🏼
BRING NINJI INTO MARIO KART WORLD RIGHT NOW.

I'm prepared either way. If Prime 2+3 gets announced for Switch tomorrow, I'll play it on Switch but if it's not I'll replay on my Wii U (unless Prime 4 gets delayed to 2026 of which I'd wait for the next Direct to see if they announce Prime 2+3). I will say though, after so many years of Switch being my primary console it feels like Wii pointer controls are unresponsive in comparison to Switch gyro controls.
@Grumblevolcano
I would love for Prime 2 and 3 to get remaster or even just a re-release to buy on Switch. However, I think I read that 2 might instead get a release on NSO.
I don't think that we will see Prime 2 or 3 personally, I feel like we would have heard something about them if they were coming. prime 4 seems pretty separate from the original trilogy too. (but if they did shadow-drop, that would go crazy)
Silksong is GOTY 2025 and no other game stands a chance (E33 will win anyway)
@Don The main things that makes me think Prime 2 and 3 get a Pikmin 1+2 style collection are that Wii NSO doesn't exist and that Nintendo shadow dropped Pikmin 1+2 a month before Pikmin 4 released.
While Prime 2 could be added to GCN NSO, that would still leave Prime 3 missing in action for many years (considering the order of consoles so far, DS would be next if another Nintendo console is added to NSO).
If we are talking Zelda remakes/ports, I would love either Twilight Princess
Even with NSO including GC now I think this is a good shout. Of the "big three" (Mario, Metroid, Zelda) there are only 4 mainline games unplayable on Switch 2:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Metroid Prime 2
Metroid Prime 3
Twilight Princess
And they all exist in that awkward Wii/GC era where there's somewhat of a fidelity uncanny valley thing going on. It's high fidelity enough you can clearly picture exactly what a higher resolution version should look like. But you get this low resolution presentation
There's a reason why these always come up in these discussions
Kinda surprised no one else brought this up before from what I’ve seen, but perhaps another Nintendo Land of some sort or see Monita appear in another game?
Heck, she could probably be added in Mario Kart World DLC since she isn’t tied to a specific franchise
I've heard good things about Nintendo Land and what I saw of it looked interesting, so I would like to see it return someday on the Switch 1 / 2.
