Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Prime 4 could also be early November; this year is more packed than usual because of the cross gen games.

I really don't even know what they could announce regarding mario's 40th (if anything at all). like, i feel we've just gotten a lot of entries in various mario franchises recently....

I think mario maker 3 is the only game that has a good chance here, if that happens, I'll be so hyped.
Maybe mario baseball?

EDIT: oh and mario wonder switch 2 edition, that seems like it's almost for sure gonna happen.

There were rumors saying that new Talking Flower voice lines were recorded, and that could mean a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming soon, although those lines could also be for Mario Kart World DLC or another game.

I know I already said I only want info on Splatoon stuff BUT that's because I forgot what I actually actually really want is a full Kid Icarus Uprising remaster. Please Nintendo? So that will be my "not happening" prediction this time around.

I want a 3D Mario, but considering Donkey Kong Bananza came out two months ago and was made by the same dev studios as Super Mario Odyssey, I'm not sure if they'll announce it in the Direct. They're probably working on a 3D Mario right now, but maybe it's too early in development. Just an educated guess on my end. I'll be happy with more Mario Kart World content and a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but I'll keep my expectations in check. We'll see what happens.

@CaleBoi25 an uprising remaster would be fantastic, even if I’m still hoping for a new game above all else. I don’t normally double dip, but uprising on switch(2) might change that

@D-Star92 They could still announce a new 3D Mario right now but it probably won’t come out until next holiday season.

As for 1st party, all I want is a new 3D Mario platformer.

I think an update to Mario Kart is very likely. At the very least some character costume updates now that DK is out. Pauline and DK costumes obviously but also other DK characters that have been suspiciously absent

@MrCarlos46 Gotcha, yeah. I could see that happening. Whenever it does get announced, I'll be excited for sure.

@D-Star92 In terms of languages supported for the next 3D Mario, would be nice to see it feature Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese and Russian alongside the other languages they translate in, same for Super Mario Maker 3 and Splatoon Raiders.

My hopes and dreams:

• Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition, with a new snowy/winter-themed area, new game plus and higher difficulty settings
• Metroid Prime 4 October release date
• new Tomodachi Life or Rhythm Heaven Trailer
• Mario Kart World content Update
• F-Zero 99 2-year anniversary update with new modes/tracks and Switch 2 resolution update (it looks bad in handheld mode)
• Animal Crossing reveal for 2026

While it would be neat to see a new Animal Crossing, I doubt we will for a bit- given Tomodachi Life is coming out next year, and the games occupy the same space.

@Azileron Ooh, I wouldn't mind seeing Radiant Historia! I put maybe 15 hours into it back on the DS before getting distracted, then meant to pick up Perfect Chronology on 3DS but never got around to it. Seeing that artwork on a bigger, better screen would be great.

I'll echo a comment I saw on an article and say that I'd love to see a port of Galaxy 2, even a bare-bones one. I never had a Wii or WiiU, so there are many games from that time I've completely missed. Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD would be absolutely wonderful, though the latter seems unlikely.

For third-party, I'll dream big and basic and say Chrono Trigger gets the HD-2D treatment along with all-new animated cutscenes in the style of the PlayStation release, with the extra content from the DS version. And/or a new Chrono series sequel featuring music from Yasunori Mitsuda.

@VoidofLight That's a good point, which makes it seem like Animal Crossing is more of a 2027 game. I'm excited nonetheless for tomorrow!

@VoidofLight Tomodachi Life has practically no overlap with the demographic for Animal Crossing, what are you talking about? Have you played either?

@CobaltFan with natural pikmin nectar is hilarious. pikmin 5 would be pretty cool, and even though 4 was pretty recent i could see nintendo releasing 5 since miyamoto really wants to push the series to new heights. @Hapless interesting, i forgot how reliable is he?

If we are talking Zelda remakes/ports, I would love either Twilight Princess (so I can finally play it) or a double-pack of the Oracle games (really loving them right now even tho I'm not done). Not sure either one is likely, but they are only my wishlist

Unless the new Animal Crossing comes to Switch 1, I don't see Animal Crossing releasing before Switch 2 Lite. The Switch Lite was such a big part of Nintendo's marketing of New Horizons and prior to the Switch it was the case the franchise sold best by far on dedicated handhelds:

• New Leaf (3DS) - 13.06 million
• Wild World (DS) - 11.75 million
• City Folk (Wii) - 4.32 million
• Animal Crossing (GCN) - 2.7 million

My guess would be Fall 2026 for Switch 2 Lite release in time for Pokemon Gen 10 releasing over the holiday season and leaning towards Spring 2027 for Animal Crossing.
