Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@Grumblevolcano Genuine question, why do people think Nintendo can't survive without a 3D Mario? I get it, they're great and ppl love them, but we have DKB, we have other games. To me, 3D Mario would be legitimately the most boring thing they could give us.

My only 'interesting' prediction (as in not brought up a lot) is Dr. Mario 99.

Just seems like such a perfect thing to exist. Arika did Tetris 99 and are the main developer of Dr. Mario so I think it's just a matter of time really.

I definitely agree that Mario Maker 2 is a decent candidate for a NSW2 edition, since new level parts and mouse controls might be beyond the scope of a patch. With that said, I don’t think Mario Maker 3 is impossible, since it’s been over 6 years since the last game

@Bigmanfan I'm going out on a limb and guessing the one more thing will be a two more thing with Fire Emblem, followed by Xenoblade.

I hope SwitchForce is wrong. I really really really do. However... If that system-seller is Dr. Mario 99 as previously thrown out, I will be happy! 😛

• A few other 3rd party ports that I can't think of at the moment
• Direct ends with a Mario 40th anniversary segment:

  • merch, movie news (official title reveal, stay tuned for teaser trailer)
  • Mario related Switch 2 game announced (I think Luigi's Mansion 4 is FAR more likely than 3D Mario personally)

Wild card prediction: Camelot is revealed to be working on a new Golden Sun for Switch 2, explaining why they've been silent for so long.

I think we could see a 3D Mario announced for late 2026. Lots of key members of the 3D Mario team were not working on Bananza.

I think we'll definitely see something related to Mario revealed in the next direct. Hoping Zelda is still a ways off. I'm still working on tears of the kingdom. I think if a new one is announced I might cry and not in a good way.

I'm wondering if Jedi fallen order and survivor might be a possibility. I mean with the great reception to outlaws you'd think they might be wanting to give switch 2 players more star wars. I know it's a different developer but why not?

Also please let Ninja gaiden 4 be announced for switch 2! We got the master collection so yeah Ninja gaiden 4 should be on switch 2 also.

Would anyone be hyped for a full on remake of Ocarina of time? Say similar to the recent snake eater delta. Extremely faithful to the original but with modern visuals? Might be cool.

Some predictions:

First party:
-Metroid Prime 4 gets a release date of October 30th, as well as remasters of 2 and 3 being shadowdropped similar to pikmin 1 and 2
-Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be releasing on December 4th.
-Tomadochi Life releasing in March 2026
-A fire emblem remake of some sort releasing January 2026
-New Monolith Soft game is one of the biggest announcements, and it is NOT a Xenoblade game. It is given a Spring 2026 release date
-Rhythm Heaven Groove is NOT shown. It does not appear again until the February direct, where it is shadow dropped
-A short Mario 40th anniversary section shows off some new merch, Mario Kart World DLC, Mario movie 2 cast and a short teaser trailer, and the teaseriest of all teasers for a new 3d Mario to end the show.

Third Party:
-The most exciting third-party game is a game key card and everyone is very upset
-Resident Evil 9 coming to Switch 2, but like a month later than the other platforms for some reason
-FF VII remake and Elden Ring release dates (obviously)
-Nothing from Microsoft, other than maybe a Minecraft Switch 2 version if you want to count that
-RDR2 port is NOT announced, Rockstar would do that on their own time
-And finally, there will be exactly 3 farm sims

And now, since I have written all these things out, the exact opposite is guarenteed to happen.

I’d imagine Star Fox or Kid Icarus getting a new game and I’d also want to see a Metroid Prime 4 release date as well as more info on Splatoon Raiders.

As for stuff related to Mario (assuming a section of the video is dedicated to Mario stuff):

• Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition
• Mario movie 2 cast reveal and trailer
• New 3D Mario
• A new Yoshi game
• Super Mario Maker 3 with new parts and the SMBW style + an actual 3D course maker and mouse control (in terms of languages I’d also add Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese and Russian along with the other languages, same for all other games and Splatoon Raiders, especially 3D Mario)
• Mario Kart World DLC

Not sure what else, but if I have more things coming up, whether in general or for Mario I could edit this

@Truegamer79 I doubt we’ll see a new Zelda for a good few years. They probably won’t want to repeat the reveal window for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom again.

They also probably won’t want to show Zelda when they most likely have 3D Mario.

I still think Metroid Prime 4 will be released in December. I think the date will be announced tomorrow, and a Direct dedicated to it will happen in October.
And the new free content for Mario Kart World is also very likely.

@CaleBoi25 Nintendo would be fine for sure, it's the online atmosphere that I have a bad feeling about if 3D Mario is absent.

@VoidofLight I was about to say maybe Prime 4 will be for November but then I just realized Kirby Air Riders is releasing that month, so…

@MrCarlos46 Yeah, October is Pokemon Legends Z-A, November is Airriders. December is open right now, but I'm guessing it's going to be Age of Imprisonment because Zelda would probably sell better during the Holiday sales than Prime 4 would.
