Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@skywake As WindWaker has been added to NSO, do you think that means a stand alone release (of the HD version) almost certainly doesn't happen?

Surely they will add Twilight Princess to NSO soon?

I really wanted a Metroid Prime Remastered style release of WindWaker and Twilight Princess on Switch 2, I think they could have used them to bridge the gap to whenever the new 3D Zelda comes (2029?) so I was surprised with WindWaker was added to NSO.

Two thoughts. Firstly I would say people overthink the NSO/Remaster crossover stuff, as if there's some kind of hard rule that something being on one excludes the possibility of the other. I would say that yes, inevitably, one eats the impact of the other to some degree. But it's not a binary thing. I would say that there are some games that are compelling enough to still sell very well even if they're on NSO. Especially if done well

Secondly.... it's a wishlist so it doesn't have to make sense. I played some of Wind Waker on NSO and my main thought was "wow, I really want Wind Waker HD on Switch 2. But not just the Wii U version, pushed further. Higher resolution shadows, 60fps, possibly 4K, maybe even using some RT". I'd buy the hell out of it

It may disrupt Direct announcement timings but in one of the 2 normal Direct announcement slots, TPC are doing a video premiere. Last time they did this, Mega Hawlucha was announced for Legends Z-A.

My guess is that Mega Malamar is coming to Legends Z-A.

Flippin 'eck it's an hour long!!

And that's without any hardware overview padding...it's gonna be a big one!

The length of the Direct does feel like it has a 15 minute game/franchise specific Direct tacked onto the general Direct like how the Monster Hunter Direct was tacked onto the September 2020 Partner Showcase. Probably SMB 40th anniversary but I'm hoping it's Prime 4 instead.

Dang, we got ourselves a 60 minute direct? That's pretty sweet. I feel like this is gonna have a lot of big stuff.

I'm locking this in right now: A new animal crossing will be announced at the September direct.
(Also prime 4 release date)
(And also Mario sports game)
(And hopefully Pikmin 5 tease)
(Also, splatoon raiders)

Assuming I don't suddenly become busy at 9 am tomorrow (the time that all Nintendo Directs start for me usually), I'll definitely watch it live. Sometime after the Direct, I'll compare it with my guesses from a while back in a new comment on this thread. I can't wait to be wrong 🤣.

so happy to see a direct on friday! my birthday week too! wahoo! here are some of my first party predictions:
-Starts off with Mario Kart World DK update
-prime 4 trailer and release date for early november
-hyrule warriors trailer release date for january
-kirby air riders trailer, thats gonna detail a story mode and more riders (i have a feeling a lot is to be unveiled in this game given its sakurai)
-z-a trailer
-Rhythm Heaven Groove trailer and release date for february, switch 2 edition
-another teaser for tomodachi life, no release date
-splatoon raiders confirmed for 2026 and trailer
a mario 40 section with a sports title, wonder switch 2 edition, amiibo, and someeee sort of teaser for mario maker 3 or something else (i think they want to promote bananza as long as possible so no 3d mario)
-ending with an animal crossing tease for summer 2026
im also expecting third party titles like elden ring, xbox titles, final fantasy 7 intergrade, higi rush, and hades 2!
hopefully this direct will be a dream and grant all our wishes 🙏🏼

All I ask, Nintendo, is for info on Raiders and more updates for 3. That's it.

@OctolingKing13 To me, that would be a 95% perfect direct. All of that plus Pikmin 5 is what might make this my favorite direct ever. Now excuse me as I try to find my clown makeup thats made with natural pikmin nectar.

Any new Monolith Soft title
Switch 2 versions of Xenoblade games

Dont care about anything else

So, what are we feeling for the big closing announcement? Cause I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea.

@Bigmanfan I think it's 3D Mario. Normal 45 minute general Direct with a 15 minute SMB 40th anniversary segment/Direct tacked on at the end. I just have this bad feeling that if 3D Mario is absent, the timing of the Direct would backfire.
